A/N: This is my first Boku no Hero/My Hero Academia fic so far, and I'm not entirely sure about the characterization of the character's (especially Aizawa) so if you see any errors or inconsistencies don't hesitate to address them! I hope this fic isn't too OOC.

Rated: T

Setting: Set after All Might's battle with Shigaraki and the Noumu and his battle with AFO, it's after they've returned to UA and discussing further plans after All Might's retirement (passing OFA to Izuku). (edited)

Disclaimer: I don't own anything!

Enjoy!

In a society bound by rules, it was no wonder the calamity that befell us and marked the beginning of an era of terror and fear.

"All Might," the retired pro-hero turned around and was greeted by his colleague's serious expression and oddly rigid posture, an odd sight for someone as laidback as Aizawa was, "We need to talk,"

Unconsciously, perhaps even instinctual after years of being the Symbol of Peace, All Might forced a big smile, "Gladly my friend! Let's go to the teacher's lounge and-"

All Might's trademark grin faltered at the look on his fellow pro-hero's face, "It's a serious matter, let's take it somewhere else," he motioned outside, seemingly somewhere out of school grounds, alone.

All Might nodded his head, his form deflating in an instant to leave behind the husk of what the Symbol of Peace was viewed as for all these years, the true form of the skinny Toshinori Yagi.

A shadow covered Toshinori's eyes, "Is this about my retirement or young Midoriya?" his gaze was serious, an uncommon sight for all those who were used to his infinitely smiling face as All Might.

Aizawa offered no response other than an intense look and another motion towards the school grounds outside.

Toshinori followed him quietly, millions of thoughts racing through his mind as to what the subject of this conversation might be.

It was serious and secret enough to warrant Aizawa to talk to him alone, especially out of sight and earshot of anyone, even the other pro-heros.

Something wasn't right.

They walked quietly out of the school building, heading for the gates, "So, how is teaching becoming for you?" it surprised him that Shouta Aizawa of all people initiated small talk, but Toshinori figured it was a way of calming both of their nerve's down for the upcoming conversation.

He smiled slightly, "It's...interesting to say the least. Sometimes, the students still act surprised whenever I enter the room, but I think in time, normality should set about my... deployment here." he coughed into his hand, ignoring the slight burn in his throat, "I don't often teach at Class 1-A, how are they?" he tired sounding as nonchalant as possible, trying to still his slightly trembling legs out of excitement.

There was a hint, the barest minimum of a smile on Aizawa's face, hidden by the messy tresses of his hair and scarf, "They still need a lot of training in order to hope to face all the villains that will come out now that you're retired, not to mention more disciplinary lessons to reign in their...attitudes," for some reason, an image of Bakugou exploding things appeared in his mind and Toshinori stifled a chuckle.

Then he focused his gaze back on Eraserhead, his gait was relaxed as ever, but Toshinori could see the stiffening of his shoulders, a sign he was stressed.

Just before they rounded the corner of the main building and reached the gate, Toshinori decided to speak what he thought this was about, "It's about All for One, isn't it?"

Aizawa stopped in his tracks, whether he was stunned or simply listening, he didn't know, "That's what this is about isn't it? You're worried what might happen now that villains started reappearing in masses through my retirement and an absence of the Symbol of Peace," his bony fists clenched, "I realize the situation isn't ideal, but there are many pro-heros out there capable of replacing me, of showing everyone that the Symbol of Peace doesn't have to be a single person, but the whole hero society. I'm sure Endeavor will be more than up for it to take my place as number 1 and about young Midoriya-"

Aizawa turned around and the look he gave him sent a small shiver racing up his spine, Aizawa had turned on his quirk for some reason, the red eyes glaring at him seemed slightly peeved, "Would you mind?"

Toshinori shrunk in on himself and quickly bowed, "S-sorry," Aizawa sighed, deactivating his quirk.

He looked exhausted now when his hair fell back into place, even more so than before, and Toshinori had to wonder if the workload and the strain put on all the teachers at UA grew even more with him here now.

"Stop over thinking too much, it's making my headache grow," there was hardly any real bite in Shouta's words but he could see the slivers of worry in his eyes.

Toshinori couldn't help but chuckle, "I didn't know you had a mind-reading quirk, Shouta," if the use of his first name surprised him, the hero didn't show it, instead he clicked his tongue.

"It's not difficult guessing what you're thinking about, with everything going on," his gaze moved over to the school building, "We may have succeeded in taking necessary precautions to secure the safety of the students and reassuring the parents," an image of Mrs. Midoriya suddenly appeared in his mind and Toshinori coughed awkwardly, "But there's still the problem of facing the onslaught of new villains," he locked gazes with his colleague, "Like you said, since you're retired now, the villains obviously took it as a sign of the hero society crumbling and being unstable, so they took the opportunity and attacked in large numbers to further weaken us," Shouta buried his hands in his pockets, "I've talked to the other pro's, it's best if we start a intense training program so the newly appointed pro-hero's can learn as quickly as possible how to deal with villains as soon as they get their hero licenses,"

A spark of hope lightened in his chest, something that seemed hollow with the inability to use his quirk anymore, "It sounds like a great idea!" he grinned, "When will it take place? We have to discuss possible shifts so we don't neglect our classes and-"

"We thought it best if we include you in the program as well, since you have the most experience fighting villains like All for One," Shouta's gaze remained steady on him and he didn't know what to think.

Still, if it meant helping out in any way he could, he would take it, "Of course,"

Shouta shifted, almost uncomfortably, "That would mean restricting your time training Midoriya as well,"

He stiffened, his promise to Izuku's mother resurfacing in his mind like a train, "That's... alright, I'll manage," he smiled, mentally calculating how many classes a day he could have while switching shifts to participate in the training program as well as taking time to train young Midoriya, perhaps at night time it would be more convenient, after all, villains won't only attack in the daytime and maybe preparing him more for combat with limited visual ability would improve his training even further. But what if his eyesight would suffer from training at night constantly? No, no, no, he would need to switch training evenly, practicing at day- and nighttime equally to ensure an optimal balance. He also couldn't forget meal times, young Midoriya was still a growing boy and he needed all the energy he could get, maybe he could ask Mrs. Midoriya for some tips on cooking, perhaps they could also incorporate their scheduled meetings to talk about Izuku. Should he bring flowers or would that be too forward? Perhaps some ingredients for a meal? For Izuku, of course, he wouldn't be invited, at least not alone with her. Mrs. Midoriya, Izuku's mother, Inko- no, no, Mrs. Midoriya, he doubted she would approve of him dining with them, he was a teacher, he had no right to do tha-

"All Might!" Toshinori jumped and instinctively transformed in his bigger form at the loud call of his name.

Both Shouta and Toshinori stared at each-other, the former with a confused and slightly irritated expression while the latter sported a stunned, embarrassed look.

"...I asked you about the schedules for the training program," the flat voice made him deflate immediately, coughing harshly to get his heartbeat under control.

"R-right..." he grinned sheepishly, "Um...could you repeat that for me, please?"

Aizawa looked anything but amused, but relented anyway, repeating what he had said earlier about the time and place for the training program, "So, it will take place at Fatgum's Agency?" he rose an eyebrow in surprise.

Shouta nodded, "Temporarily that is, until we found a more suitable place,"

Toshinori rubbed his chin, "Why not here? After classes are over?"

The pro-hero frowned, "I've talked about it with the principal, he said there is a too high risk of the students accidentally getting hurt, not to mention them catching wind of our actions, there's no need to further insecure them by letting them notice how desperate we are to get things under control again,"

All Might frowned, 'Not that they didn't have an idea of it already,' but he held his tongue, instead he voiced his other concerns, "What about the...err...the time?" he scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"It's nothing set, but we've talked about it being two times a week for now, until there are any objections to it," he rose an eyebrow questioningly and Toshinori straightened.

"N-no, no," he coughed again, "That's fine by me," hopefully.

Shouta nodded, "Alright then, well, I'll be seeing you later," he waved as he walked back to school and Toshinori waved back, sighing heavily.

With the new training program, it would no doubt be a tight squeeze, but he should manage if he played his cards right, 'Especially considering I made a promise both to him and his mother to raise him and make him a fine hero worthy of carrying One for All,"

Steam rose from his body, his suit straining slowly against the new buildup of muscle mass, as his smile grew sharper and wider, his now bigger hands clenched into tight fists, one fist thrust into the air, "Do not fear..." he breathed, his grin in place as his fist shook, a sense of hope and triumph filling him for the first time after the accident, "...for I'm here,"

Thank you for reading! Opinions are very appreciated! :) Still unsure if it's a one shot or a shorter story (depends on the feedback I get :3)
