I have always been fascinated with cheese. As a child I would eat tons and see how long it took for me to feel sick. I use to love it. My favourite variety was stilton. Mmm. The pieces of blue mould make me feel complete. My mother was concerned about my love of cheese. She use to think I ate too much and would develop a calcium build up around my face. Watch the mighty boosh to know what I mean.

When I was the tender age of 25 and 11 months (only one month until my 26th birthday!!!! I was so excited), I was reading a television magazine, called the radio times. On the front it had a huge picture of cheese, and on the inside cover there was apparently an article about a programme featuring cheese! I was so excited to watch this documentary, featuring my hero : Isaac Hitchen.

Btw, while all this was going on I was writing what is now a hugely successful book called the Darren Shan saga. I decided to name the main character after myself as I am a bit vain. Anyway, I watched Isaac present this amazing documentary, about cheese. How I loved that documentary. Then, at the end, it said "Curds and whey," and I thought : "Curds and whey?"
