Valentine's Day meant a lot of people in the pie shop and loads of work, equally for Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney and Toby. Lots of young men wanted to shave before meeting their beloved women. A few of them ended in Mrs. Lovett's bake house, but of course most of them got smoothest shaves ever. Many couples decided to go for a meat pie for a date. Lots of them were disappointed that the pie shop had to close early because of meat pies sold out. But that meant some free time for Mrs. Lovett and Toby later.
Mrs. Lovett wanted to spend her free time mending her and Toby's clothes, and Sweeney needed clean shirts for the next day, so she planned laundry in the later evening. She was just sewing a button back on the boy's shirt when Sweeney entered her room.
'For you' he said, laid a card and a daisy on her table and left. Mrs. Lovett picked the card up. It was definitely hand-made by Sweeney: on it, there was a man and a woman digging a hole in the ground (cut out from paper) and text.
"Since the very first disposing of evidence, I was sure that you are the one".
Inspired by a real valentine. Review please!
