My life was going nowhere fast, and I knew it. My name is Chelsea, and the past year has been hard for me. But allow me to clear a few things up first. My mother and father are divorced, and recently, my father had passed on. He was always a free spirit, allowing me to do as I pleased. He let me peruse art as a career (which may I add failed miserably) and supported every wild idea I had after the next. My mother on the other hand, ruled with an iron first, she could have been a pit boss- she disagreed with me not receiving formal college education in something like accounting and engineering- bah those just sound too boring! I don't want to live in a cubical my whole life!
This leads me to here; standing in the harbor of Mineral Town. My mother had been protesting the entire time.
"Chelsea! Are you stupid child? A farm? You want to be a farmer!" She was enraged at me when I announced my decision. She was upset that I declined her invitation to live with her after what became of my dad, but in honestly, I don't want to live with a lawyer.
I listened to my mother gripe, moan and groan until my boat arrived.
"Well mom, this is it! I'm headed to the Sunny Islands! "I hugged her tightly, it was feeling a tad bit awkward but nonetheless, I loved her. "I will write you as soon as I am settled."
She held on a moment longer, looking at me with the same dark blue eyes I had. "Ok sweetie, please be careful…" And with that, I hauled my rucksack over my shoulder and bordered the ship.
I stood in view, waving bye to my mom, my life, and everyone I knew (which really wasn't much.) As the harbor became a speck in the coastline, I decided it was time for me to take my things, and place them in my cabin.
It was strange; there weren't many other travelers onboard. Really all there was were the crew, myself, and cowboy looking individual. He stood alone, gazing over the ocean.
Little did I know, I didn't set well with boats. I found myself hurling over the side of the ship…I thought I wasn't going to make it to my island.
