Hello mortals, monsters, Olympians, fellow demigods! I got bored, was trying to write a songfic and this happened! So I figured I might as well post it! Enjoy!
Insomnia. For the millionth time, correction: for the sixty-seventh time. Annabeth Chase's sleepless nights had been spent in her cabin, breaking curfew in the woods, on the dock or in Cabin 3, staring at the stars from a hilltop while searching for him in the bitter cold of December.
1:07 am.
Her phone screen glowed softly, declaring her second haunted hour awake and alone. Utterly alone.
It was March now; but he could have disappeared yesterday.
Stupid Hera, and her selfish purposes.
Dear Percy,
She sat up and lowered her feet to the cold floor.
You had my heart
Her fingers closed around a blue jacket, and she pulled it around her shoulders.
And when Hera took you
His jacket.
You took it with you, to wherever you are
Taking care not to make a sound, she stood and crept out of the cabin.
This thing beating in my chest
The grass was cool, dampened by the dew, under her bare feet.
Is only a shadow, a remembrance
The night was as black as pitch, there was no moon. And the stars in their silver arrays showed heroes and beasts,
Saying that I miss you
From long ago,
Doesn't illustrate the tears and pain
And from three winters past.
The pretending
Her mind spoke to her lost love, far away, while her feet took her through the dark empty camp.
The faked smiles that I've had since you've been taken
She found herself at the Pegasus stables. A place that she had hardly visited since the Argo II was started, but for more reasons than preoccupation with the ship.
And when I see you again
A Pegasus at the back of the stable stomped uneasily.
I will never let you go
Its wings spread, as black as the night that covered the camp. She put her hand out cautiously, "Blackjack."
And Percy
She knew that the Pegasus hadn't been ridden since December. He was Percy's Pegasus. And even if Annabeth couldn't talk to him,
I can only hope that
She could see a human-like sorrow in the beast's eyes.
You remember
He whinnied and spread his wings. Probably impatience,
And that you're still my Seaweed Brain.
But to her it seemed like an offer. We can go find him. She pulled her hand back, as hard as it was. You aren't thinking straight. Its not time.
Not yet.
So.. I really hope that you liked it! I had to put blackjack in there! Please please review! And if you want: check out my story "I Remember Love"! Thanks!
