Beyond Human: Introduction
Joe's P.O.V
Every since I was a little boy, I had always dreamed of being a scientist. I had dreamed to do and discover things beyond anything in the natural world. I had dreamed of seeing things that no average person could ever imagine just merely by their perception based on the presence of their senses. I had dreamed of testing that perception.
But I never would have thought that, at the age of 24, I'd be working for a company who would go even further beyond my expectations. It's hard to explain what we actually do here at Zector Corporations, but all is know is that whatever it is…it's highly classified.
In a way, I guess you could say we, in some way or another, create life. Walker, the whole front-runner of the business, says we're providing the world with a cure. But not just any cure…a cure that not even God himself could believe to be possible.
We form entities…human entities. But Walker stresses that these people- these things- that we create are not human. They're beyond humans. They're everything a human isn't. He likes to refer to them as "products", produced solely for the purpose of protecting the common good of society…and thriving over it.
We make them…we feed them…we teach them. If anything, we're practically their caregivers, guiding them for the simplicity of our benefit. Then, as time progresses, we realize that they begin to teach us.
They're…perfect, each one possessing it's own special power, whether that be the ability of telepathy, ingenious capabilities, telekinesis, mutation, telescopic vision…you name it. But of course we don't learn of a product's power until a little bit later.
And the number one rule a worker must remember here is to never grow emotionally attached to a product, for the sole purpose of sustaining authority and not knowing what the future will hold. I, personally, have been very good with this…until now.
The band around his wrist presents the number 2347. But I just call him…
Nick.
A/N: So I got the idea for this from probably so many different movies, but I guess the main movie I got it from was "Sole Survivor" (excellent movie by the way).
I know it may sound a little confusing, but I tried to make the Intro as straight-forward as possible. You'll learn more in later chapters. So if you don't understand it now...don't worry; you should later.
I'm like SUPER excited to write this because I LOVE sci-fi stories, and have always wanted to write one, so I hope you guys are as excited as I am.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and let me know I won't be wasting my time posting a second chapter.
