Photobomb Competition: Viktor Krum – Harry in the prefect's bathroom with the egg clue
"Perhaps I'd like to take a bath in the prefect's bathroom and take the egg with me? What kind of advice is that?" Harry muttered as he entered the prefect's bathroom. He glanced around, looking for anything that could possibly help him understand the egg's message but there was only him and the tiles at the bottom of the enormous bath tub.
It took several minutes for the bath to fill with water and various sweet scented bath soaps. The bubbles reached the top of the bath, and the taps immediately closed. Magic really was amazing.
Harry was taking advantage of the opportunity of using the prefect bathrooms, and he knew it. Harry knew he may never get another opportunity to do so. It was with a little trepidation that Harry entered the large bath tub. He had never been taught to swim, the Dursleys had never thought of such a skill as necessary to him, so he was wary of large bodies of water even with magic.
It didn't take much for him to completely submerge himself in the scented bath water. Harry knew that there were probably charms and spells placed onto the bath tub to prevent anyone from drowning, and that managed to ease his fears slightly.
Harry's gaze kept flickering back onto the surface of the golden egg that stood silent on the edge of the bath tub. Curiosity gripping him, he opened the hatch that held the egg shut. A terrible shriek filled the room, making Harry wince as he fumblingly closed the hatch once more to save his eardrums if anything.
"What the hell are you doing, Potter? Do you no longer enjoy the use of your eardrums?" came a voice from the doorway.
Harry yelped, and turned to face the intruder, only to realise it was the Durmstrang champion, Viktor Krum. He hadn't expected anyone to be using the bathroom now, much less a member of one of the other schools.
"What are you doing here?"
"I just found this place a couple of days ago. I only had time to check it out today," Viktor said calmly.
"There's a password on the door!" Harry protested.
"Nothing a couple of spells can't take care of. The protective enchantments were extremely weak," Viktor said dismissively. "You're solving the egg, I see."
"Solving?" Harry snorted. "I still have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing with the blasted egg. All it ever does is screech like a banshee every time I try to listen to it."
"You're surrounded by water, have you really not figured this out yet?" Viktor asked incredulously, "Cedric obviously overestimated your intelligence." Viktor looked as if he were questioning Harry's intelligence.
Harry's forehead furrowed, "You mean you have to use water for the egg to be understood?"
Viktor gaped. "Does Hogwarts not teach you how to recognise magical languages?"
"No?" Harry answered, making it sound more like a question than the answer it was supposed to be.
"Warding?"
"No."
"Basic Curse Breaking?"
"No."
"Wandlore?"
"No."
"Alchemy?"
"No."
Viktor fainted.
Harry frowned at the open door, wondering how he would be able to close it now.
