Sakura walked behind her team as they continue on their trek back to Konoha. The Kunoichi was in deep thought as she replayed the events earlier. The fight they had, she didn't do much did she? All she did was stay in the background holding a kunai. Kakashi-sensei and Sasuke-kun were all amazing and was able to fight off many enemies, like Zabuza and the boy, Haku, she believed was his name. Even Naruto, the deadlast and loser of the class, was more useful than her!

Actually, the more she thought of it, these past weeks, she wasn't getting any better in strenght or jutsu-wise. What could she do? She had her book smarts, perfect chakra control and sensei did mention her being a genjutsu type, but that was it. Sasuke-kun had the sharingan and was the rookie of the year, Kakashi-sensei also had a sharingan and was very strong, and Naruto aswell was a decent fighter but let his emotions take the best of him. Which leaves her, a pink haired genin with no kekei genkai, clanless and nothing special about her apart from her exotic hair and eyes. Sakura knows she was only put on the team to even out the numbers of a four-man cell.

"You could start taking Kakashi's training more seriously." A voice spoke.

Inner. Sakura thought in reply.

"Long time no see, outer. Now back to what I was saying, what if you trained seriously? Mabye you could get stronger." Inner suggested.

"We could also get rid of our fangirl crush on Sasuke. Behind his cool and mysterious persona, he's an annoying prick and wouldn't even spare us a glance. Not to mention arrogant and so absorbed with his revenge."

I... I haven't thought of it that way. Sakura thought. Was she so obessed with Sasuke that she completely ignored her duties as a ninja? Was she so blind to see her teamate's all leaving her behind and becoming stronger.

"Yeah we were pretty arogant and selfish..." Inner muttered quietly.

Suddenly Sakura felt shame and guilt in her chest. She felt so stupid. She could have been on par with them. Could, being the keyword. Instead she was left behind. Again.

That day Sakura Haruno made a promise to herself; She'd become her teamate's could count on, not someone who needed protection. She would get stronger. When Team seven finally arrived to Konoha, they first gave their mission report and went their seperate ways.

Sakura Haruno wasn't going to be weak anymore. So at the first chance she got she went to the library to pick up books about chakra control and genjutsu.

A few days passed after their mission to wave and Kakashi-sensei drops a huge bomb shell by saying he nominated them for the chunin exams.

Sakura never felt so scared before in her life. (Well apart from their first C-rank turned A-rank mission.)

Timeskip

She decided that if she wasn't going to be a dead weight anymore, she would have a lot of training to do. So here she was outside the Godaime hokage's office. The Sandaime was killed during the chunin exams by the same person who had given the curse mark to Sasuke.

Taking a deep breath to ease her worries, she knocked on the door and upon entering asked in a voice filled with determination;

"I would like to train to be a medic, Tsunade-sama."

The training she received from Tsunade was both brutal and rewarding. Back then, she could barely punch anyone, but now her hits were enough to cause craters on the earth. Now age 15 and a prominent figure in the medical community, Sakura Haruno was no longer the weak little twelve year old girl in her genin days. The pinkette trained and worked hard to where she was today and became a strong and confident woman.
