Five Simple Steps

Summary: One: Fall. Two: Help. Three: Kiss. Four: Fight. Five: Love. (Drabbles) -Duncan/Courtney.-

One: Fall

Falling isn't supposed to beautiful. But that didn't change the fact that it was.

Maybe it was the way her eyes were always looking to him in a sort of desperate plea. They were bright, brown, a mischievous smile in them that looked foreign on her.

Her back was arched perfectly as she slipped out of her desk- the stress of the world on her shoulders, the ridicule of others eating her away.

And he wished that he had been a bit less dense so he could have seen it coming.

But he only had a few seconds to know.

Two: Help

She didn't want to say thank you.

He had been the last person she would have expected to save her from hitting rock bottom- but he did. He carried her, nuzzled her neck lovingly. She didn't know what to say.

Now he was always by her side. He didn't say much, he just always took his hand and wrapped it around hers, a silent prayer that she would stay safe, that she would stay the same, that she would stay his.

She couldn't object. She was starting to find that the last thing she wanted was to be without him.

Three: Kiss

Why were they so different? Maybe, they decided, they could mix together perfectly.

His kisses sent shivers up her spine- hers made his breath hitch. There was something about the way that a tango of tongues and emotion made everything so untouchable, so taboo- they couldn't keep themselves away for too long.

One would speak, and then the other would speak, and then they would have this long staring contest that ended in one or the other grabbing the others sleeve, needing contact, needing lips on lips and skin touching.

Why were they so different? Because together, they were complete.

Four: Fight

Sometimes they couldn't stand each other. It was times like these when fists and kicks and tangle of limbs wasn't shared with loved, but scattered with filth and spit and curses that neither of them truly meant.

Fighting had always come easily for the both of them- they did it flawlessly and so often that they stopped counting the harsh encounters they exchanged. But this time, things were different.

They could feel that the air was tenser, that the blood coursing through their veins' was on fire instead of simply flowing through.

This time, they knew no one would win.

Five: Love

This was what they lived for, what they would die for.

It was the way that their fingers fit together as they slipped their hand into the others, the way that each touch sent sparks up both of their bodies, the way that being apart made them ache and the way being together brought pain even more so. A stupid kind of pain. A pain they never wanted to go away.

It was the only thing they had ever shared without a fight- they had never questioned it because it was them. It was them and everything they were.

Love.

Authors Note:

Each of those drabbles were 100 words. Just a simple little thing I was thinking about in the car and decided to type up.
