He had a knack for hiding his nervousness. But as the moment drew near his stomach was in knots and his heart was pounding in his ears. He'd knew he'd feel better once he'd propose.

But as he and Amy sat down on the couch he couldn't feel the ring he'd gotten from his mother in his pocket. He started panicking a little as Amy pulled him in to kiss. "Can you believe it's been five years since our first date?" Amy replied lovingly caressing his shoulder.

"I know!" Sheldon replied and then blurted out. "Do you think I should start watching The Flash TV show?"

"That's what you're thinking about?" Amy asked confused.

"Well, one of the things!" Sheldon replied as he tried to rack his brain to figure out where he could have left the ring.

"Are any of them me?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes!" He quickly replied. "I thought, I can't decide if I should watch The Flash TV show. I know, I'll ask Amy. Anyway!"

He leaned back into kiss her again but she stopped him.

"What are you doing?" Amy asked unsure of where this conversation was going.

"You're right!" Sheldon replied as he snuck a look over at his desk at his Gollum statue which seemed to jut its head over at the fridge. "You did kind of killed the mood!"

He nonchalantly got up, walked over to the fridge, opened it and there it was. The ring box. He grabbed it along with a bottle of water.

"I didn't kill anything." Amy replied starting to get angry. "You did, talking about your stupid TV show."

"Excuse me!" Sheldon replied feigning being insulted. "Starting to watch a television show that might run for years isn't a decision to take lightly. I'm wrestling with a big commitment issue here!"

"Really?" Amy replied angrily as she walked towards him. "That's the commitment issue you're wrestling with? Sheldon, do you understand the irony of your fixation on a man with super speed, while after five years all I can get out of you is a distracted make-out session on a couch?"

"While you know irony's not really my strong suit." Sheldon replied as he took a shaky breath and held the ring box tightly. "There is another commitment issue I want to run by you!"

"Oh, sure!" Amy replied sarcastically folding her arms. "I'd love to to hear all about it!"

He could feel tears welling up in his eyes as he got down on one knee while opening up the ring box. Amy gasped and clapped her hands to her mouth.

"Amy Farrah Fowler!" He choked out. "The past five years have been the best years of my life. Before I met you I didn't realize what I had been missing. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

"Oh Sheldon!" Amy sobbed out. "Yes yes of course I will!"

They were both crying uncontrollably as Sheldon shakily placed the ring on her finger. Then she sat down on his knee and kissed.

"Oh Sheldon!" Amy replied emotionally after a few minutes. "I love you so much!"

"I love you too!" Sheldon replied sobbing then gasped, looked down and blushed.

Amy followed his line of sight and smiled.

"Oh Amy may I?" Sheldon asked shakily.

"You don't know how long I've been waiting for you ask me that!" Amy whispered shakily.

They wrapped their arms around each other and nearly fell over as they continued to kiss.
