Zuko was awoken by the sounds of feet shuffling around his room as the servants were busy getting his outfit ready for his first day of senior year and his sister Azula's Freshman year. Zuko woke up and stretched, stifling a yawn as he dismissed the servants. Zuko was nervous, Azula was anything but friendly and he knew that his family already had a bad reputation. Why oh why does she have to be at my school? Why doesn't she just join an all-girls academy like Mai and Ty lee.

Zuko shook his head sighing, he decided to take a shower to help clear his mind before getting ready for the most exhausting day of his young adult life. Walking into his private bathroom he looked into the mirror, his golden eyes showed only detachment as he saw the scar that surrounded his left eye. A reminder of how much his father was displeased and embarrassed by him. Zuko softly touched the leathery skin, a mix of pain and fear filled his eyes before he shook his head once more and stepped into the shower, getting washed and ready for the day.

An hour later Zuko was ready for school, he just had to wait on his younger sister to finish getting ready. While he was waiting one of the servants told him his father wanted to speak with him. Zuko groaned to himself but followed the servant to his father's meeting room. Zuko knocked and waited for permission to enter.

"Enter" his father, Ozai's voice said harshly. Zuko walked into the room and instantly bowed out of respect for his father. (even if he couldn't stand even being in the same room as his father since the incident that left his face burned and scarred.)

"Zuko, as you know your sister is attending high school with you. I want you to show her around and make her feel comfortable amongst the other students. Make sure they know who truly rules the school. Don't disappoint me" Ozai said glaring at his pathetic son. Zuko looked up to meet his father's unemotional eyes.

"I understand Father." Zuko bowed once more before being dismissed, leaving to meet Azula out front of the mansion before they both walked to the school.

Meanwhile, Katara was still sleeping in her room, oblivious to her brother banging on her door. A few moments later Sokka burst into her room causing her to use her bending to freeze him to the wall out of self defense

"SOKKA WHAT THE HELL?!" she yelled her heart racing from being startled. Sokka was upset. "Katara you overslept; school starts in an hour" he complained as she finally unfroze him.

"Oh shit, why didn't you wake me sooner?" she said crossed as she raced about her room gathering up her newest outfit heading to the bathroom to get ready.

Soon she was dressed in a deep blue long sleeve shirt with black skinny jeans and high-top shoes. Her hair was done in her usual braid leaving two strands of hair framing her face. Her mother's necklace was hanging from her neck. Katara continued to make her way through her list for the day. She made a packed lunch for Sokka knowing he hated school food. Then she looked at her phone and smiled. Jet texted her saying he would meet them at the school.

"Hurry up Sokka, we got to go." She said rather impatiently, a hit of excitement filling her voice. The siblings both hugged their grandmother.

"see Ya GranGran we will be back after school." They called out as they left. Walking the 4 blocks it took to get to the building. As the school came into view a tall and lanky boy with unruly brown hair, dressed in ripped black jeans and an orange t-shirt with a zipper hoodie slung over his shoulder.

"Jet!" Katara called out as she ran ahead of her brother and into her boyfriend's embraced kissing his cheek softly. Sokka followed, shaking his head as he didn't approve of Jet. He was oddly protective of Katara, constantly getting in fights with guys who even looked at Katara with lust filled eyes.

"Hey babe, ready for another amazing school year?" he asked wrapping his arm around her waist. He smiled at Sokka,

"hey man, how's Suki?" He knew it would bother Sokka since his girlfriend had graduated the year before.

"She's good." Sokka shrugged and nudged his sister. "Come on Katara we need to get our schedules." Without waiting for an answer Sokka started to walk towards the doors and to the office. As he was waiting in line Azula waltzed in and scoffed at everyone.

"ZuZu, these people are in my way." She said annoyed, looking at her brother as he kept his head down staying silent.

Sokka looked over at the girl, his eyes widened as he moved away from them. The phoenix's' were at his school, this was going to be a difficult year. He decided to quickly grab his and Katara's schedules and left to warn his sister.

Katara was sitting in the hall flirting with Jet when Sokka walked towards them.

"Katara, I need to talk to you" she looked at him with a look that asked if it could wait.

"No, it can't." Sokka shook his head and pulled Katara to his locker so they were out of earshot of Jet.

"Katara, you won't believe who is at the school."

Katara crossed her arms and looked at him

"hmm could it be Haru?" she said sarcastically. Sokka only gave her a harsh look.

"Ha-ha very funny. No, the Phoenix kids" Katara gasped her hand flying to her pendant. The Phoenix clan was responsible for their mother's death. Jet came over after seeing Katara's body language change so drastically and wanted to make sure she was ok.

"Babe?" he started to ask. Katara shook her head, before taking Jet's hand and walked to their first class as the warning bell rang.

"I'll tell you later" was all she said as she tried to keep her voice low.
