Adventures Of A Goddess
She sat upon a lonely hill, her crystal blue eyes as old as time gazing out over the land as thunderstorm built on the horizons. She sighed, not in defeat nor tiredness but satisfaction. Just as she predicted, the storm was building. Within a day it would be over the land, drenching the parched earth with life giving rains, its lightning, splitting the night causing it to be as bright as noon.
She stands. Her bone white hair cascading down her back stands out against her rich mahogany skin, her appearance striking, otherworldly even. She smiles and closes her eyes becoming lost within her own mind. For a few seconds she is lost, gathering herself in mind, body and soul to do what is asked of her. It is her duty. This is her gift. She opens her eyes, now filled with the glow of life and gazes once more out over the land. Her land. She watches intently, learning. Mother Earth has unlocked her deepest secrets to her, nothing is hidden.
All around her the solid tangible structure of things have become replaced by the energies that compose them. She watches. The bio electricity generated within the bodies of living creatures dance across the land. Shifting her gaze towards the heavens, the elements have become magnificent multi colored bands dancing across benign sky. She watches. With an outstretched hand she beckons. The thunderstorm building on the horizon roils with sudden unbridled fury. Lightning flares. The faint rumble of thunder has now become a deafening roar from the heavens. It is as though the gods themselves are arguing. Gently, she shifts. She pulls and she tugs. She shapes the energies that drive the storm, much like a potter sculpts his clay until she achieves the desired effect. Rain.
She laughs. Arms outstretched, strong wind sweeps the storm goddess off her feat and towards the heavens. Lightning dances around her fingertips, her hair billowing wildly in the winds, which came at her mental command. She soars over the land, reveling in the fury of the elements that are hers to command, her joyous laughter never revealing the power of the elemental energies which seeth within her. She is happy here and only here and when her work is done she banishes her storm just as quickly as she summoned it. Floating down on a gentle breeze she sighs as her bare feet touch the damp earth, a testament to her handiwork. It is done.
"A most impressive display Ororo..truly beautiful". Her reality is shattered.
