Lady Ruby Dragon: Hello again! I finally got around to completing this little fic I've had on my computer for forever. I know it's short, but, I kind of meant for this to remain a one-shot. I don't own Final Fantasy X despite how much I'd want to. Now, on to the story!

I wasn't quite sure what was happening. All I knew was that something was wrong. Very wrong.

Wakka searched frantically back and forth at the bow of the boat. The only sight that greeted his eyes was the vast ocean, broken harpoon launcher, and an empty deck.

All of a sudden, I watched as Wakka dove into the crystal water. I realized then what was happening. Tidus had fallen overboard during Sin's attack. The only coherent thought that could form in my mind was, "Oh, Yevon…"

Yuna attempted to rush forward to look overboard for any sign of either boy, but the stoic guardian held her back by the forearms and shook his head at her quietly. Her mouth wouldn't… couldn't form the words, but her mind was screaming. "Tidus!!"

If you were to ask me right now why I cared so much for this young man's fate; this man who I barely knew the name of and had known for less than a day, I wouldn't be able to answer you. Some might say it was because I'm a summoner, but that's not correct, not entirely. And I don't know why, but I cared for this man more than some of my closest guardians.

The water splashed up as Wakka disappeared under the water with his blitzball. Tidus' life was now in his hands. Everyone on the S. S. Liki remained silent; probably all praying silently to Yevon for the men's safe return.

I couldn't bear to think that there was even a chance that Wakka wouldn't bring Tidus back. It wasn't even a possibility to me. I knew Wakka; he wouldn't fail me now; not when I needed him.

Yuna broke free from Kimahri's grip and ran to the edge again, leaning over as far as she could. Her eyes darted back from side to side frantically. The only movement from the water was the ripples created from the quiet sea breeze. The summoner gripped the railing until her knuckles turned white. A single tear escaped as she fell to her knees, realization hitting her. Tidus was gone. Wakka wasn't coming back. Two of her trusted friends were gone forever.

No, no, no. This can't be happening. I've only known him for a few days!

Lulu walked over to where the young summoner knelt crying softly to herself. Standing behind the girl, Lulu placed a caring hand on her shoulder.

"Yuna." Lulu's voice, despite the woman's nature, carried a slight air of comfort for Yuna and helped her just a bit.

"Tidus… Wakka…" More tears began to silently flow as realization hit her, "…they're gone…"

"They will be okay. Wakka will come back." Yuna wiped the back of her hand across her eyes and slowly nodded, knowing that what Lulu spoke was the truth. The smaller girl stood up and gazed out once more at the sea, still waiting to see some movement below the water.

Lulu and I walked back towards the cabins when I heard a splash behind me. I jolted my head around to look over my shoulder before running right back to the edge to peer over. Down in the water below me was Wakka with Tidus next to him waving up at me, "Hey!" I don't know how large my smile must have been then, but the only thing that was going through my head at that moment was "Praise be to Yevon."
