PROLOGUE
Hermione walked into the kitchen, of her and Harry's penthouse, pouring her a glass of water. She was wondering what Harry wanted to talk about which was so important that he disturbed her during her important meeting. She waited for her fiancé while thinking the possible reason for this urgent meetup.
She heard the main door open. She rushed to the drawing room where she found Harry sitting on a sofa seat. "Good Evening, Harry. Should I go and make some tea, Luna got me this amazing chamomile tea from India."
"Actually no, wait. I want to talk to you and it is something important. It would be better if we sit and talk," he said.
Hermione walked over to the sofa seat and sat down next to Harry. "Harry, what is it? You are scaring me now,"
"It is about us, Hermione. We are not doing well. I mean we are not exactly having a smooth ride in our relationship. We have been arguing like eight-year-olds since the last two months. You are busy in your job and I am busy with Quidditch. Also, I think we are too young to get married, it seems way too rushed you know."
"So you want to break it off, is that what you are trying to say?" she hissed.
"Yes. I mean I am not happy with us. You have observed that we aren't actually giving each other time. Please understand I certainly do not want to make this nasty."
"Okay, I understand." She looked like she was on the verge of crying.
Harry got up and swept Hermione into a bone-crushing hug. "I really wanted to make this work Hermione. I am so sorry. Are you okay?"
"Yeah" she lied. "Harry, can I ask you something?" She asked and after he nodded assertively she asked: "Is there someone else?"
"I would not lie to you Hermione, yes there is someone else. I am sorry but after our arguments, I needed someone to talk to, someone who would understand. I am sorry I cheated on you. We can really go back to being friends."
She nodded. "Don't you want to know who it is?"
"I don't think I care anymore really."
"Don't be like that Hermione. You should not take this hard."
"TAKE THIS HARD! I loved you harry. I expected not love but at least loyalty from you." She snapped finally. "You were one of my best friends. You're
a git Harry you know that?" she sat down on the sofa and started crying. "Why did you even cheat on me, was it because I am not an arm candy. Manwhore!"
"So the blame is on me now. You are an uptight bitch. You are nothing but a bookworm. You are upset because you won't get anyone like me, one who can love a boring person like you. You are alone." Harry said in sheer anger.
"Oh, right. Oh and Harry I know it was Ginny. I may be a bookworm Harry but I can smell my fiancé's perfume on my best friend. Fuck you, Harry Potter." She screamed at a now surprised Harry.
She got up and made way to her room. She started packing her bags and took all her clothes and other items and left all her and Harry's pictures. She came back to the drawing room to Harry.
"You can have the house and pay me my part by transferring the amount to my Gringotts account. There is no need to contact me."
"Hermione, I am sorry. What I said was in anger. Please don't do this, I really didn't mean it."
"Trust me, Harry, you really did mean it. Here," she handed him their engagement ring. "Take this. I am not sure if this will fit Ginny. Happy fucking life, Harry Potter." With that, she left the house. She was a strong woman; she would not let a stupid person like Potter ruin her life.
