The Joy of Inaction
Layra doesn't know his father. And his mother is always sure to keep him close and make sure he knows exactly what to do. Like she doesn't trust anyone else's instructions in regards to him. Except Ni-san.
Ni-san doesn't tell him to do many things though. And when he does, it's usually to watch. Observe. Understand.
He enjoys that more than actually doing things. He prefers it when everybody's eyes are elsewhere. When nobody looks at him. When no-one has expectations of him. Or is judging him. Wondering whether he'll live up to his Ni-san. To his mother. To a father who'd vanished – left – soon after he'd been conceived, without even knowing he existed. To his family name.
He can enjoy inaction, because then he isn't judged for his actions.
