Title: Clark's Girl Through and Through

Rating: K+

Disclaimer: Don't own Smallville and never want too unless I can somehow get Sam Witwer in the package.

"I only went with Davis for Clark, Jimmy. It was all for Clark." Chloe had tears on her face, finally making a connection of which she's never made before with her ex-husband.

Jimmy looked into her eyes realizing now her reasons behind everything. In the bliss of this pure understanding, they kissed, leaving all forgiven.

"So that was it," Davis' voice broke their embrace.

"Davis!" Chloe pulled away from Jimmy suddenly feeling exposed and embarrassed. Davis was standing by the mattress where they'd laid him; his shirt was full of holes evidence of Doomsday having been ripped from him. He was staring at her with a look of absolute betrayal on his face.

"You--," he paused for a second to collect himself. "You only stayed with me all this time because of Clark? You never felt anything for me? I was never worth saving, only a threat for you to martyr yourself over for your friend?"

Chloe stiffened at Davis' accusations. The cat was out of the bag. Ever since she'd found out what he was, she had viewed him as nothing but a threat to the world and most importantly Clark, and she wasn't going to deny it now.

Davis waited a beat, hoping for an explanation, an excuse, hell, anything that could have hinted that Chloe felt something for him at all. But nothing came.

"So," Davis quivering with resentment and hurt that was only continuing to grow by the second. "You're going back to him." He jerked a thumb toward the silent Jimmy. "The guy you hold me humiliated you in public, told you that your marriage was the worst mistake of his life, degraded you over the internet, and broke into your apartment for drug money, that guy?"

Taking offense at that last part, Jimmy stepped up, "Hey, now—" He didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before Davis lost it and decked him in the face. Jimmy dropped unconscious with a thud that sounded very satisfying to Davis.

"Jimmy!" Chloe ran to Jimmy's side, cradling his head in her arms. What little satisfaction Davis felt disappeared. Davis had to look away for fear of more agony from the sight.

"I loved you Chloe," He continued to the stain glass window surrounding them. "I trusted you. I thought you were to only one in my life who cared about me, who didn't despise me for what I had been. But you lied to me, manipulated me, and all for the sake of Clark. It was nothing but a lie, false hope so I'd stay in line."

"I did it for the world, Davis," said Chloe stubbornly looked up at him from the floor. "You were a monster, you had to be controlled."

At that, anger sparked to life. Davis turned his face toward Chloe, glaring at her like he'd never done before. To Davis, it was like seeing her for the first time since they'd met. He saw the hopelessly devoted brainwashed girl who would never live or succeed past her friend's shadow. The girl who didn't have an identity of her own any longer. It was pathetic.

"Good riddance, Chloe Sullivan," whispered Davis. He walked to the doors that lead away from this insanity. Turning back, he said, "You can go back to your cursed life and you can be sure I won't darken your door step again. You can go back to your drug addict husband, self-centered cousin, and dick best friend. I thought you were worth more than any in that group but I was wrong and I was an idiot to ever see anything in you. You have only one priority in your life and that's Clark. You'll never be anything more." And with that Davis Bloome left the chapel, determined to leave Chloe Sullivan, Smallville and Clark Kent as far behind as possible.
