He was my warrior. My savior.

He risked his life to save mine on numerous occassions.

But right now, I need to risk my self, and everything I believed in, to save him.

I hated lying to Zoey, especially after all she did for me. For us. The red fledglings.

But he is what matters to me the most. More than my own life. More than the fate of the world.

Rephaim's wing was broken. He was so helpless. I felt so drawn to him.

To me, he wasn't one of Kalona's evil spawn. Nor was he my enemy.

I mean, sure he tried to kill my best friend, but lets face it, who hasn't?

To me, he was beautiful and kind.

I stayed with him, until his wing healed. I would sneak him food and water.

I watched him. Studied him.

He was so graceful, even when hurt.

Slowly, I fell in love with him.

Zoey would kill mee once she found out, but couldn't care.

It was a cold morning, round 3am. I snuck out with only Erik seeing me. He gave me a weird look but said nothing, probably thinking I was going to check the perimeter again.

I snuck down to the tunnells, where Rephaim was hiding.

He was standing up, streching his wings. His chest muscles flexed, the sight sending a pleasurable shiver down my spine.

He was gorgeous. His wings were large sheets of ebony feathers, flexing, stretching, healing. His beak was strong and his jaw, chiselled. A cool breeze ran through the tunnells, carrying his scent towards me.

He smelt like sunshine. I missed that smell.

I gave a soft sigh.

Quickly, he spun around, tensed, as if ready to attack if need be.

Once he saw me, he relaxed slightly. I handed him some food and water.

He snatched it and swallowed in a matter of seconds.

He gave me his thanks, eyeing the canteen in my hand. His voice was raspy and stale, like the bread he had just devoured, so I lifted the canteen to his lips and the cool, refreshing liquid ran into his mouth, moistening his dry throat.

"Why are you good to me?" he asked after gulping down the last of the water.

"Well," I said, pausing. "You helped me, so it's only right tht I help you."

"That still doesn't answer my question."

"I...I..." I sighed. Just tell him, I thought. "Have you ever felt drawn to someone? Like their the only reason you breath everyday? Like the world wouldn't be worth living in if it weren't for this particular person?"

Rephaim though about it for a millisecond, before shaking his head. "My mother died when I was born...My father treats me more like slave than a son...and women? A woman wouldn't look twice at me unless it was to make sure I was real. Then she'd probably turn her tail and run away screaming."

He gave a short breath after his rant.

"My heart is as cold and hard as ice and my soul is darker than your worse nightmares. I have seen...heard...done things that are inexcusable. As if any woman would want any of that."

I took his face in my hands and looked into his glossy, ebony eyes. "I do," I whispered and then kissed his smooth beak.

"I love you."

Hey, hope you all liked it.

Like I said in the summary, this is just a random oneshot.
