I have an angel on my own.

You don't believe me? Just take a look. He has golden hair, and eyes glowing with the same sunshine. Not enough? Wings? But he has. Without wings... no-one could move like him, almost floating in the air, dancing with every step.

My own angel brings a coffee to my desk, every morning.

My own angel scolds me for ignoring the paperwork, every day - and then he set to it himself, muttering something.

My own angel is always nearby - all I have to do, is to turn around to see him frowning and looking with reprimand.

We serve the darkness. With pride, willingly, we follow the one whose darkness disperses our own. Every one of us will sacrifice their life for him without hesitation. We sacrificed our souls long ago, turning away from the light for ever.

My own angel... radiates light. He's unaware of how much he doesn't fit here, even though he believes this to be the only place he belongs to.

Sometimes, when I almost fall asleep in the warmth he emanates, he comes up to my desk, and only looks. When he's sure I can't see, he smiles.

None of us can smile so innocently any more. If we ever could, that is.

But he can.

His innocence... has a power to overcome the darkness.

I know you realize it. I know what you expect of me.

"Konatsu, ya would never betray Aya-tan, right?"

The hands holding the blanket froze.

"Major Hyuuga..."

A wide smile and a flash of blue from under lowered eyelids made it sound like a joke.

"I know ya wouldn't."

The blanked covered Hyuuga's shoulders. Konatsu stood there for a moment, and looked at his superior drifting off to sleep.

"The bed would be more comfortable," he said finally with the tone of disapproval.

The lips grew even wider. He looked like he was content with something. Konatsu sighed. His absolutely insufferable superior...

"Goodnight."

There are no absolute truths in the darkness, everyting is clouded by the shadows. A threat may turn out a luck you can use one day. You don't have to worry in advance. You can't possibly believe I would oppose you? Aya-tan?

My own angel...

You won't have to make me chose.

... is my own angel.

Right?
