Note: Modern/Muggle!AU that's heavily inspired by Incredibles 2. Gotta love Jack-Jack

No one understood Hugo. Sure, they knew when he wanted his food or he needed a change, but no one understood him when he really, really wanted them to. If they did, they'd get rid of that cookie snatching ball of fur.

That ball of fur was known as Ronnikins.

Daddy hated it, but his mummy thought it was funny because of some name Daddy called her all the time. Well, Hugo hated it too. He hated Ronnikins in general. Crooksy went to sleep some time ago, and Mummy got another one that was supposed to be like him. This one was nothing like Crooksy. Crooksy would cuddle with Hugo and made sure Mummy and Daddy knew when he wanted something. He even kept Rose from whining so much when she had to watch him.

But this...this meanie didn't do those things. Instead, he took Hugo's cookies. Those were his, not Ronnikins. Something had to be done about this; his mummy and daddy wouldn't listen to him though. There was only so much a four-year-old could take from the bad kitty. It was time Hugo took action.

The time had come when Daddy fell asleep watching the picture screen.

Ronnikins was sneaking on the top of the couch, hitting Daddy with his tail. Hugo watched him, pretending to play with his toy until he saw Ronnikins crossing into the kitchen. The young boy stood up, stumbled a bit, and waddled his way behind the cat.

Hugo jutted out his tongue between his lips, reaching for the scruffy grey tail swishing back and forth. His tiny fingers nabbed a good bit of it and with a battle cry fit for a baby warrior, Hugo tugged.

Ronnikins mewed loudly, his claws jutting out to cling to the floor as Hugo tried to pull him away. The baby babbled and fussed, grunting with all his might to get the bad kitty away from the kitchen. He was not getting his cookies this time!

Seeing that his effort to pull the kitty was not working, Hugo let go of Ronnikins. Before the kitty could get away from him completely, Hugo leaped like the grown-ups on the screens and tackled the grey ball of fur.

Another loud mew and battle cry later, the two were rolling around the floor and crying. His mummy came rushing in, yelling something to his daddy before pulling them apart.

Hugo had a few boo-boos, but he'd wear them like a badge of honor because he kept Ronnikins from his cookies.

As he was lifted in Mummy's arms, Hugo locked eyes with the bad kitty and blew a raspberry at it. That'd show that fur ball to go after his cookies. He'd be really ready for him next time.
