It was already dark before a young man in his early twenties left the city library, His brown eyes stinging from hours of studying ancient, near forgotten texts and manuals on battle techniques and field tactics. His lantern held in front of him, shining brightly, dispelling the encroaching darkness of the alleyway between a butcher's shop, and an Inn he recalls is called "The Hearty Doe" he regularly uses as a shortcut to get to the academy. Suddenly, a crashing sound echoed all around the alley as something, or someone is dropped from the Inn's roof.

"AAH!" screamed the young man as a body slams into several crates used by the inn as storage, causing wood to splinter and bottles of an unknown liquid to break. The man slowly peeks behind several boxes to see what actually fell, having hidden there after hearing the commotion. He cautiously walks toward the fallen body after retrieving a dagger from his over stuffed backpack, but stops after hearing voices above him. He quickly hides behind his box just in time to see a giant of a man with a huge sword strapped to his back, drop down from the Inn's roof. "What in the hells?" whispers the man hiding behind the box as the giant slowly, almost lovingly draw his blade from its sheath and carefully positions it right on top of the fallen bodies head.

"No… this isn't right… maybe I should just go… what should I do?" Thought the hiding man, but before he could think of another thought, the giant raised his sword and prepared to strike. (Now… What would you do if were in the hiding man's situation?) Before the man could rationalize his decision, He dashes to the giant with his dagger still in its sheath and stabbed it behind the giant's kneecaps making him kneel, and causing his sword swing to miss the fallen body's head by mere inches. The kneeling Giant's roar of pain and rage was drowned out by the deafening "THUNK" of a dagger pommel hitting the forehead of the giant, his head snapping back causing him to lose consciousness. (Critical hit!)

"Ohh man… I beat him! Ohh man… what do I do now?" exclaimed the young man as he jumped around the fallen giant. "NO!" suddenly shrieked the body the man just saved, causing the man to drop mid jump, (ouch…) after recovering from his "Serious" injury and tying up the fallen giant, the man quickly runs to the aid of the fallen person, which on closer inspection is actually a young, and bloody girl wearing tight fitting leathers.

"Wow… she's beautiful…" the man drooled as he gazed at the woman's tight leathers (especially the "Important" parts). "I have to help her, but I can't do it here… I better bring her to the house…" thought the young man as he unbuckled the giant's sword sheath so he can take the sword with him. After tying up the giant's arms and legs with a rope from his pack, the man then carefully lifts the fallen woman in a fireman's carry because of his large backpack, and now, his new and even larger sword.

Upon reaching his room in the fighter's guild and depositing the woman on his bed, the young man quickly begins to administer first aid on the girl's wounds; fortunately he finds a rather large gash on her body and begins to untie the straps and buckles that hold the girl's leather armor. He discovers the girl having multiple knives underneath her armor, finding them in hidden compartments in her boots, shoulder pieces, and chest plate. "Obviously this woman is very dangerous… I wonder why she was running from that brute…" The young man mutters aloud. The girl suddenly moans and opens her eyes…
