AN: i have some things that i don't know how to state in the story... so I'm going to put them here, if I think of anything else I'll put them here... I'll try remembering to put a note at the beginning of my new chapters if i add anything new here... These only apply to the demons of Hyrule, but do share similarities to beings from other realms.

Mages have their personalities attuned to things in nature...

Wind mages are affected by the weather unless something occurs the weather affects them, but if the mage is under stress they affect the weather. Generally they are very calm, and don't lose their temper though. They tend to develop claustrophobia as well.

Fire is affected by the temperature... They can lose their temper quickly, so the area around them gets very warm VERY quickly. They can't stand the cold.

Water Is affected by the tides by the tides (and the moon). They get kinda robotic if they get too far from large sources of water.

Land is attuned to seismic waves and how close a mage is to fault lines. They tend to be calm, away from fault lines, but develop wicked tempers near fault lines especially if there is a volcano in the vicinity. They get have a fear of being on water.

Shadow (or nightmare) mages grow weaker (and have shorter tempers) the more light they are exposed to. They get very happy when in complete darkness. They tend to be more prone to sunburns than any others, and heal quickly in darkness. shadow mages tend to fade at the edges when they get emotional. the more their emotions run wild the more their form loses its shape.

Light (or white) mages are nearly the exact opposite. They tend to have a (severe) fear of darkness instead of burning.

Natural magic is a subcategory of light and earth magic. These Mages tend to be shy and have more confidence the more plants that are around them.

Demon (or hell, or chaos) mages are the only kind of mages who can perform shadow magic who aren't from the shadow realm. They normally have a specialty in one or more of the other magic types. These Mages have an animal form that reflects both their element, and their natural personality. Most if not all Demon Mages have motion sickness of varying degrees. From wind who have it severely to earth who have a minor case of this.

Dragon (or earth) mages are known for their motion sickness and normally having short fuses. They are also able to adopt the traits of others as well.

God (or heavenly, or fairy) Mages are known for only using light magic. They lack the fear of darkness, but are exceedingly rare.

It's impossible to learn how to be a Demon, Dragon, and God magic. Someone can only be either born or gifted with these magic types.

Demons are created at about the age they are meant to be. They age slowly, and have two types. Warrior demons who mature at the age of 10 human years, and mages who mature at the age of 5... they take 5 to six years after too reach physical maturity. from that point they tend to age extremely slowly. I would estimate it would be about a minute for every century for a full blooded demon, and since demon genes are a very dominant trait someone who has active demon genes age at twice the rate.

This is a little story behind the story... It helps explain a few things for later...

The world of the three golden goddesses was a world of light; a world that was far to imbalanced toward light. They even created beings of light upon the world fashioned in their own image. To fix this, the universe created a god of darkness to live alongside the goddesses. the golden goddesses denied him the right to live in the sacred realm, so he created an army of dark beings like himself to help force his way to "his rightful place." He even gifted them with a natural need to create chaos through bringing about darkness.

They warred for ages until the golden goddesses created a minor goddess to live upon the surface. in time the dark destructive actions of the god of darkness gained him the name Demise. Even after Demise was sealed the demons helped keep the world of light balanced by creating as much chaos through darkness as they could.

Demons like Dethl or Malladus are naturally demon shaped and don't care for taking on a human shape, while Hylian shaped demons like Ghirahim or Vaati prefer their Hylian shape. Though, those who are Hylian shaped prefer their natural shapes, it is considered a rite of passage to take on a full demon form.

For every creation of light the goddesses made, Demise created a creature of darkness to balance things out. Like the goddess Farore created Flowers, so Demise created Deku Baba. Or Maimai and Parella were created by Nayru, so Demise created Octorocks. Demise even created counterparts to Mortals (skyloftians). These counterparts were Skull kids for human children, and Stalflos for adults. Although the the goddesses may have created beings of light, they were weak, making it easy for the Demises creations to corrupt them. with this in mind, Demise gifted his creations the ability to exploit this weakness. The mage type demons were with the greatest ability; to see the darkness of Mortals.
