Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

A/n: First time writing HP fan fiction and I start with a character I dislike…. Sigh…

Snape opened his eyes and stared. This was the afterlife. He could see Dumbledore smiling in front of him. "Severus, there are some people who are waiting to see you," Dumbledore came forward and tug at him gently.

Mutely, Snape allowed himself to be led towards where he could see a cluster of houses. As they neared, he heard someone calling him. "Severus!" It was the one person who he ever loved. "Lily," he breathed softly. Then he saw a shock of black hair poking out of one of the houses. Of course, that James Potter would be with her. "Lily! Is he here yet?!" he heard James called to his wife. Lily ignored her husband and smiled at him. "Come, Severus. They are all waiting." Dumbledore was already at the door.

Hesitantly, Severus took a step forward. Lily smiled encouragingly and called to her husband, "James! Get the others here!" "Okay!" Suddenly Snape found himself engulfed among his arch enemies form school days long ago. James grinned at him and said, "Hey, it's been a long time!" Sirius thumped him on his back. Remus, always the serious one, smiled at him slightly and gently reprimanded his friends. "Give the man some space, Prongs. And you too, Padfoot."

"Okay, okay. Geez, Moony. Do you have to be so serious all the time?" Prongs frowned comically at his friend. Moony heaved a sigh and turned to Snape. "I am sure that you are confused about all that, but," he drew a breath, "What we all mean is that we are very grateful for what you have done for Harry."

Snape was stunned. He looked around and saw all four of them smiling at him, old feuds long forgotten. He suddenly felt lighter of heart and smiled, a genuine smile, saying, "We all wanted Voldemort dead."

Laughter rang out that day. Dumbledore smiled to himself as he observed the men sitting together talking as Lily busied herself around the house. The afterlife was a good place for resolving old feuds.
