DECLAIMER: Yeah, I wish I owned me a Senri Shiki..that'd be the day.
Buried way beneath the sheets I think she's having a meltdown
Finding it hard to fall asleep she won't let anyone help her
The look on her face a waste of time she won't let go gonna roll the dice
Loosing her grace starts to cry I feel her pain when I look in her eyes
Rima Touya, sixteen years of age-but has been alive for centuries, orange-ish hair and ocean blue eyes, often mistaken for a doll, a model, a student, a vampire of nobility, Shiki Senri's best friend, quiet, almost lifeless; all because of them.
It's nearly dawn, but she still cant sleep, been laying there for hours, remembering her last visit home; their words repeating in her head like a recording that never ends.
Their questions of why she can't be prettier, more social, whyshe's not like the rest of the nobles, whyshe has to take up to much oxygen, whycouldn't she just let Rido end her pathetic, meaningless life; why doesn't she just kill herself? Their feeling of regret, and hate towards her.
Rima never liked her family, and they never like her. It's always been this way, ever since she was young.
Senri Shiki was the only person who ever accepted her for who she was, even though his family hated her too, simply because her blood was not high enough in the line. He's also the only person who knows what happens when they get called home.
He had found out by accident, walking into her room without knocking, catching her putting on her school blouse. He almost looked away, but he caught sight of purple welts and bruises going down her arms. Vampires heal fast, especially nobles and pure bloods, so these markings were fresh...and painful.
He never asked about her home life, but right then and there, he felt horrible. His best friend was being hurt, no abused, by the family that was supposed to love her. Granted his own family wasn't praise worthy, but they'd never hurt him, they needed him to be their puppet.
Rima never told him who did it, or why. Just that her family hated her. She never wanted pity from anyone, that's why she kept an emotionless mask on, all the time.
So there she lay, crying because she knew her pain hurt him, more than it did her. But she'd never let him get involved...they'd only hurt him too.
Shiki was the only person she had in this world, the only person she could ever count on to be there when she need him.
She knew that if her life was perfect, everything would be boring, that she'd have no reason to fight; to live.
He hates when she thinks like that, if she can't find a reason to live, he'd be her reason, he'd be there when she needed someone to talk to, when she refused to accept his help, when she wanted to die; he'd be there to pick up the pieces and make her smile.
In all truth Rima never thought about Shiki like that, like a lover, until the night she had a meltdown and went to him. He told her he'd be the reason for her to keep living, that they needed nothing but each other in a world where family hates you.
Than he told her he loved her, and that all she had to do was open her eyes, to see that they could have everything.
Your eyes, never close your eyes, open up your mind and you can have everything
