DISCLAIMER: No, I will never be J.K Rowling...
A/N: Hello all! I hope you had a lovely holiday season, mine was good until yesterday when I got dumped... so, I wrote this small oneshot to get my feelings out, anyways, my friend thought it was good, so I'm uploading it.
I am using Hermione as the main character for this, but who her boyfriend is, is entirely up to you!
And I will be uploading more of 'Messing Around' soon, it's just a bit hard to write a romance when you've just been dumped.
Missing You
It felt weird, for Hermione to feel like this, she felt empty – like something was missing.
But something was.
She knew it was stupid to cry over a boy, especially when the breakup was a mutual decision – and they'd only been going out for two months, it was nothing serious.
But when she thought about it, two months was a long time. It was longer than most relationships. They'd had so many good times together – times she'll never forget.
There was the time he took her to her favourite play.
Or when he bought her the complete works of Shakespeare.
But all of those good times were in the past.
Hermione didn't really know how they got together in the first place. They'd been really close since first year, but they were in different houses, not in the same group of friends, and they didn't really have anything in common.
She was the nerd and he was the popular boy.
He got bored when she talked about the latest book she was reading.
And she got bored when he started talking about Quidditch.
So really, why were they together in the first place?
'The first time I met you, I knew we'd be together one day," He had said one day about a week into their relationship.
But the rest of Hogwarts had thought differently.
"WHY are you even dating him?" Everyone asked.
"Because I love him," she replied.
And she still did.
She really did love him, even when she agreed with him when he was breaking up with her.
"This relationship is going nowhere," he said.
"Agreed," was all she could manage to get out.
"I think we should go our separate ways," he said.
"I think that'd be the best thing to do. "
"We – we still can be friends right?"
"Of course we can."
He started to walk away, back into the busy halls.
"You know I still love you right?" she asked, and immediately regretted saying it as soon as it came out of her mouth.
"I know," he said, before walking away, leaving her alone.
His breakup was so cliché, but she thought it worked, and every word of it was true.
So, why was she crying?
She was crying because she was mourning the relationship.
She was crying because every time someone asked if she was ok, she just smiled and said 'I'm fine' – even though she was dying inside.
And most of all, she was crying because she missed him.
