"Goodbye to my Santa Monica dream... Fifteen kids in the backyard drinking wine... You tell me stories of the sea... And the ones you left behind..." the calming tune emits from Max Caulfield's earbuds as she walks across campus towards the Girls Dormitories. In the background, the sun was just going down, slowly, making the sky an relaxing orange hue. A lot has happened today. One moment, she found out she has inherited the power of controlling time, next she sees her best friend get shot in the school bathroom. A friend she hasn't seen since they were little. After years of silence, Chloe has changed quite a bit. Luckily, Max was able to save her. After trial and error, after repetition of hearing the gunshot. A haunting bang.

Still shooken up about the events that tumbled out over the day, she made her way to her dorm room. Once in the safety of her residence, Max plopped down onto her bed, shaking it a bit with a squeak and laid down, sighing. Trying to process everything still, she found herself only reaching to her phone minutes later. She needed to tell someone. Not just Chloe. Max needed Kate and Warren. Looking at her phone, she saw 4 new messages calling for her. 1 from her mother, 1 from her father, and 2 from her dear loyal friend, Warren Graham.

Mom: "Max Your principal sent me an email saying that you told some tall tales about a Blackwell honor student Is this true? The principal said this was a serious false charge And that he is worried you're telling stories Call me asap so we can talk about this Mom

10/07 4:45 pm"

Max simply sighed and shut the message. The text from her dad was just talking about her birthday money put into her account. Next, she eyed Warren's profile picture. Biting her lip, Max opened the inbox, hesitantly. One file attatchment and a message saying,

Warren: "Earth to Max: Your white knight Warren here. I know you were worried about me.

10/07 6:36 pm"

Max felt her heart reach out to him. She owed him big time. He was always there for her and even took a hit for her today. He really was her "White Knight".

Warren: "How are you doing, Maximum?"

Max: "I'm a bit shaken up, but I should be asking how you are."

Warren: "I'm doing fine. :) What's up with you?"

Max: "It's been a strange fucking day."

Warren: "So you have said. Hey! Let's go grab a bite to eat! Are you down?"

Max: "Sure. I'll meet you in the lot and I can finally sit in your sweet new ride ;)"

Warren: "You know it! :) See you soon!"

She relaxed in her room for a few moments, thinking, before leaving to go to the lot and meet with Warren. He was leaning against his car just like this morning. Max rolled her eyes with a small smile, walking up to him. "Hey Max. What's new?" He gave her a goofy grin. "I'll.. tell you in the car." She sighed. "No problem." He opened up the car and the door for her. She got in with a "thanks". Warren got in the seat next to her and started up the car. "Soooo...?" He asked a few minutes into the car ride when he realized Max wasn't saying anything. She glanced at him. "Yes..?"
