Alec sighed deeply, bored out of his mind as he stood next to Aro's throne waiting to be released from guarding duties. Suddenly the doors to the throne room were thrown open and a hysterical Corin walked in. She was carrying the limp body of her mate that Alec couldn't quite remember the name of. Dry sobbing loudly, she lay her mates body at the feet of her masters.

"My dear, sweet Corin," Aro said. "Whatever is the matter."

"She killed him," Corin screeched, pointing across the room.

Alec had been too preoccupied staring at the lifeless body of the vampire before him that he hadn't even noticed Felix and Santiago walk into the room. Between them was the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on, and he found himself instantly drawn to her. She was relatively tall for a female and had the body of a Victoria Secret model, all smooth slender curves and legs that reached to the sky. Her sun kissed skin was smooth and flawless, silky ebony tresses fell to her waist, framing a perfect face. But what drew Alec in were her eyes, seductive and mysterious, framed by thick, feather duster lashes, they shone an electric blue.

"I did not," the girl cried indignantly, even as she spoke in outrage her voice was seductive.

Aro stood up from his throne, examining the vampire body before him. "He does seem to be dead, but perhaps he is merely unconscious. It looks as if Alec's power has been turned on him."

"I assure you master, I have no hand in this matter," Alec spoke.

The girls eyes flashed towards him and he shuddered as her eyes swept over his length.

"Corin there is no way this human could have incapacitated-," Demetri was cut off abruptly.

The girl hissed, "Excuse me, but did you just call me a human," she spoke the word venomously.

"Well that's obviously what you are," Demetri rebuted. "I can hear your heartbeat."

"If you were paying closer attention," the girl started as if she were speaking to a child. "You would also notice my heartbeats a good deal faster than a humans."

"That's obviously just because your scared," Demetri cast her statement off.

The girl scoffed. "I am not scared. I could easily take you, leech."

Demetri hissed at her and she rolled her eyes at him.

"If you are not human, child," Aro spoke evenly, "then what exactly are you."

The girl laughed.

"Is something humorous about my question," Aro aked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well considering I'm at least three hundred years older than you," she said. "Yeah, it's frickin hilarious."

"Three hundred years," Aro asked and the girl nodded. "Well then, I apologize for my assumption, but you still have yet to answer my question. What are you?"

The girl smiled coyly. "Why I'm a siren or course."
