Song of the Disconnected, Of the Connected

Singing ever so sweetly

The room becomes cold to the touch

Frigid, freezing as all turns blue

Everything goes slow

Until the rush comes closer to seize

Her footsteps are quiet, yet hard

She towers above, but hunched over

Black hair drapes down her

Like a certain Haunted reminder

That was not Yours, but His

You were There once

She came from There

She came for You

She came to bring You back

Because You're still There

If You are here

How are You There

If She was There

How is She here

Your breath catches in Your throat

You see it in the cold

And so does She

She comes through walls, through doors

To catch Your Breath

As You do when You tire

She hurries to You

A kiss, yet not a kiss

Drains the breath out of You

Along with Your life

She has You now

To take You back

Dead, not alive

But alive There

If not Here

Once more, I wrote yet another Evil Within poem about one of the Haunted/Lost for Halloween. This time I decided to write it about the Anima, a spiritual Haunted/Lost that is found in the Union STEM. According to the Evil Within Wikia, Anima is described as being a physical manifestation of the fear, trauma, and guilt Sebastian feels during his time within the Union STEM. However, in-game diary/log entries mention that she was already present there even before Sebastian was sent in, so she may represent these same feelings present in other people in the Union STEM by taking them into visions that have caused those feelings. That's my theory, anyway. The Wikia also mentions that she looks similar to Laura from the first game which may mean that Anima may be a product of the Beacon STEM in some way as a victim of it herself or a metaphysical manifestation of the aforementioned feelings which may have been influenced by Laura's appearance and presence in the Beacon STEM. This was the direction this poem suggested, but it ultimately may not be canon. The reason being has to do with my theory as Anima's form may differ depending on each victim who sees her.

Anyway, have a Happy Halloween!

Disclaimer: I don't own the Evil Within series; it's owned by Shinji Mikami & Tango Gameworks.
