Like every other day, Yuzuki rose with the sun. Tying the long, white sash around her dress, she brushed her hair and plaited it. One would've believed her human had they not seen her flashing, navy eyes, or her hair, blue as no human could have.

Like every other day, she slipped gracefully, quietly down the stairs to begin to ready the house for another day.

Like every other day, at exactly seven o'clock she climbed the long staircase silently, tray in hand.

Like every other day, she tended to her master and his needs, despite what protest he gave her to take a rest. She needed no rest. Her purpose was to serve.

Like every other day, she waved him off to school, watching his small form until it could no longer be seen, disappearing around the corner of brick house that stood at the end of the street, moss splotching and covering its distinct reddish tinge.

Like every other day, she wandered the house alone until he returned, aimless and fretful with worry. She performed tasks, house chores, in an attempt to still her anxiety, to take her mind off of him.

Like every other day, he returned home safe, trotting down the path, bag in hand. Only then would she calm, walking out to greet him, a quiet, happy peace in her once more.

Like every other day, he was her life. Her reason for life. The only reason why she existed.

Like every other day, Minoru somewhat regretted this. Her loyalty was constant, neverending, and her devotion to him was absolute. He appreciated that.. yet..

Yet he couldn't help but wonder.. perhaps, if he had made her too faithful, if he had tried too hard to create a replica of his sister.. Had he prevented her from developing her own personality? Had he prevented her from finding joy?

His sister could never be replaced. He knew that now. But was it fair to allow Yuzuki to continue to chase after this wish? This wish that could he could never have? A pursuit she had no choice over?

Regrets could not be tolerated; deeds were done and could not be changed. He knew this. Knew this all too well, in fact.

Yet sometimes, he wondered..

Who would she be if she were another?
