Emma sat back in her chair with her hand still on the glass of whisky, she hadn't realised how late it had become but was now delaying walking home in the cold winters night. More because she was bored than anything Emma grabbed her coat and was about to head home when the phone started to ring Emma was silently cursing " they had to ring now not in the past 3 hours I've sat here waiting for something to happen". As Emma stumbled over to her desk she realised that half of whisky was gone " dame I hadn't thought I drank that much"

" sheriff speaking how my I help you" she said after finally making her way to the phone.

" Mom, where are you? Why aren't you at grandma's or grandpa's?" Henry spoke faster than he usually did making it hard for Emma to fully understand what he was saying

" Sorry kid had to work back what's up why aren't you in bed?" Emma was pretty sure the former Mayer was trying to get into the kids good graces so was letting him get away with shit she usually wouldn't have.

" It's my mom, she hasn't come home yet and she said she'd be home for dinner, and now I just don't know what I should do"

" I'm sure Regina's fine, I'm pretty sure that woman can take care of herself" Emma secretly wanted to add that's all Regina care about was herself but held it back for Henry's sake.

" but I'm really worried please you promise you would try and work things out with her" as he spoke Emma remembered the conversation she had with the kid the previous day and how she swore to try and understand Regina, and her evil ways.

" fine kid what do you want me to do" although Emma was trying to keep good on her promise she was annoyed at being called into work this late at night.

" please just try and find her I mean it should be to hard for you" Emma could hear him truanting her trying to get her to commit, and she hated that the kid knew only to well how to play her.

" okay fine, I'll get mary..., I mean your grandma to come pick you up"

" thanks mom you're the best" as henry hanged up all Emma could do was stare blankly ahead hearing " you are the best" replayed in her head. She had so many insecurities about being a part of Henry's life not sure whether her presence made his life better or worse.

Emma stubbled a bit when she tried to put the phone back on the hook, she didn't have any idea how she was suppose to be finding an evil queen in this state but she had promised her son.
