Lawrence woke up.
He felt the sweat running down his back, felt the tears slide down his cheek.
He had a dream of Adam. Again.
Lawrence buried his face in his hands and cried.
He promised Adam to come back, promised not to leave him.
It was all bullshit.
Lawrence never came back, he left Adam.
" I wouldn't lie to you ".
But he lied, lied to the person who trusted him, trusting him that he would come back.
- I'm sorry.
He said it, hoping that Adam would forgive him.
But Adam could never forgive Lawrence, never.
Because he was dead. Dead.
Lawrence couldn't understand, couldn't accept that Adam was dead.
Didn't want to forget, couldn't forget.
" Don't leave me, no! "
" Lawrence! "
Adam's voice was so scared.
Lawrence closed his eyes and he saw Adam's lifeless body, that just lay there, bloody and lifeless.
He could never forget that day...
*Lawrence's flashback*
He sat in his office, staring at the wall.
Staring at nothing.
The days had passed, the police had still not found Adam.
His phone rang.
First he just stared at it.
After a few signals he lifted the receiver.
- Lawrence Gordon, he said in a calm voice.
- We've found Adam Faulkner, a cop said on the other line.
Lawrence dropped the phone and ran out of his office.
He knew were they had found him. The bathroom.
When he arrived, he saw Adams body.
His foot was still chained.
A policeman came up to him.
- Dr. Gordon? He said and looked at Lawrence.
Lawrence nodded and the tears began to flow.
- I regret to say that Adam Faulkner is dead.
- No... No.. He can't.. He can't be dead! Lawrence cried and looked at the policeman.
- I'm sorry, the policeman said.
Lawrence crouched down and cried.
He opened his eyes.
They were red from all the tears.
He lay down again, and eventually he fell asleep, with tears in his eyes.
