Xbox and a Heart-to-Heart
A Blam Broship One Shot
By Danielle Cheri
"Dude, you are sucking it up today." Sam said, throwing his Xbox controller down at the end of the bed.
"Sorry, I'm not feeling it today." Blaine sat his own controller down and spun around in the desk chair.
Sam got up and took the disc out of the game system. "It's about Kurt, isn't it?"
Blaine sighed. "Yeah." He put his face in his hands. "I screwed up, Sam."
"Hey, things happen." His friend sat down on the edge of the bed.
"It's all just excuses. I really wish he would have showed up. But at least he called. That was something."
"It was." He patted the other boy's knee and then reclined on the bed. "Hey, you and Kurt are likeā¦Pepper and Stark."
"I don't know if I like that analogy. They're a bit antagonistic."
"Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson?"
"Getting a little closer."
"Han and Leia!"
"I'll take that." Blaine's face broke into a smile.
"Good."
Blaine watched him for a few moments and then leaned back in the chair, resting his feet on the bed. "I didn't ever think I'd care about someone this much. I'm a rational person. I know that sometimes high school relationships last, but mostly they don't." He sighed. "And I cheated."
"So did he." Sam pointed out.
"It was just texting."
"It counts. And you stuck it out then." He gave his friend a hard look. "You two are perfect for each other. You've hit a couple rough patches. It's not the end of the world. You can work through it."
Blaine watched him some more. He was suddenly struck with an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. He looked away. "I hope so. It seems like it."
"Yeah. So let's watch Iron Man. That always makes you feel better, bro."
Blaine smiled and rolled off the desk chair. He plopped down on the bean bag chair in the floor. "Let's do this!"
