Hey Everyone!

Okay, so here's another fanfiction dedicated to the awesome show BRATS of the lost nebula. I know I should be writing on my other story right now, but I am completely stuck for a little bit, so bare with me.

So here's another rewritten scene from the show that I have taken upon myself to write. This scene plays over and over in my mind. Gosh, I miss this show!

Enjoy!

Lozians Have Wings.

Ryle grumbled silently as he twisted the wrench on the panel that Duncan had left him to work on. He looked at Lavana, sitting cross-legged with her hands out to her sides and her blue eyes closed, on the rock near the cliff's edge. Her short black hair rustled in the wind ever once in a while, but she remained perfectly unmoving. "So why don't you get to help?"

Lavana took a slow breath in and out. "I'm meditating to communicate with mother planetoid," she answered simply, without as much as opening her eyes.

Ryle rolled his Trynoid eyes and shook his blue head, causing his horn on his forehead to shake from side to side. "Meditating," he scoffed, "More like sleeping and pretending to be useful."

Lavana opened her eyes halfway to cast a glance at him. "It's an ancient tradition of the people of Loza. You wouldn't know of it, because it requires a brain," she quipped. It seemed he was always trying to get under her skin. The people of Loza had evolved beyond violence and petty actions, but she felt it necessary to defend their traditions.

Ryle grabbed a smaller wrench and tried to get a stubborn bolt from the panel. The bolt was too tight and it broke the wide end of the wrench, causing Ryle to stub his blue finger. "Ow! Dang it!" he cried out.

Lavana laughed at him and covered his mouth with her left hand to hide that she had broken her trance simply to laugh at his failure.

Ryle looked at her cruelly. "Think that's funny, huh?" He threw the useless piece of wrench toward her. He hadn't aimed it at her, but it would be enough to show her that he was the man around there, and that she would not treat him as though he were a stupid child, or a useless alien scum, or… like he didn't exist at all. He knew that Zadam was making a better effort than he was, but he wanted a chance at what could have been the only female alien left in the universe, well besides Zadam's younger sister, but she seemed to have created a special friendship with Duncan. It may not have been romantic, but it was a connection. Maybe if Lavana hated him now, it would be enough for her to love him later.

Lavana screeched as she saw the broken wrench coming toward her and she flipped backward off the cliff.

Ryle's eyes went wide and he bolted for the cliff. He tried to grab her hand as it disappeared over the edge. "Lavana!" he screamed as he felt his fingertips touch hers just before she fell into oblivion. The last bit of air in Ryle's lungs released as though he had been kicked in the chest. She was gone. He had caused her to fall off the cliff. Everything was his fault. His chest became heavy and he felt tears stinging at the corners of his eyes. "I'm sorry," he nearly sobbed.

Lavana came back up from the cliff's edge and hovered just above Ryle with her large purple and black butterfly-like wings. She looked down at him with her large blue eyes, mimicking his usually cocky attitude, she said, "Apology accepted."

Ryle sat back on his butt. Relief flooded his chest and he instantly regained his posture and too cool attitude. "You had wings all along?" he stated, but with more emotion than he had intended. Now he would seem really weak to her.

Lavana smiled at him, or maybe she was smiling at the prank she had just pulled on him. Either way, she was smiling. Ryle hadn't seen her smile at Zadam before. Maybe… he did have a chance after all.
