Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. Since the fillers, and the omission of Kakashi Gaiden, I'm not regretting it...

you can get away with it...sweet sixteen
She looked up at him, tossing back her soft pink locks, smiling mischievously.
"Where's my birthday gift, Kakashi-sensei? If you were this late, it must be something good, ne?"
He looked at her for a long moment, considering. They were standing in the kitchen to which she had retired to get some more snacks, while the noise and laughter of the other party guests drifted through from the living room.
"Well?" she challenged him, "Come on and give me my present, I'm waiting."
He parried. "What did Naruto give you?"
She rolled her eyes, but there was a smile on her lips.
"An Ichiraku Ramen voucher, same as last year and the year before."
"And what did Lee give you?" he asked, rubbing his chin as if in thought.
"A pair of red leg weights to match his, he said they'll help my training," she giggled, "Red leg weights, can you believe him!?"
"Knowing Gai, and the fact that Lee would have asked him for ideas on what to get you, yes," the silver-haired man said with a soft chuckle.
"Anyway," the girl frowned, "Enough about other people's presents, what are you going to give me?"
"You want your gift right now?" The mischievous twinkle was hidden as he pretended to adjust his gloves.
"Yes." Hands on hips. She knew how to deal with her sensei. Be firm.
He thought it unutterably adorable that she thought she knew how to deal with him, and even felt inexplicable warmth at the thought that she wanted to.
"Close your eyes then and I will." He spoke in a manner nonchalant to the last degree, with no hidden implications detectable.
She complied immediately and unprotestingly, speaking volumes about how even his addiction to his little orange books had not affected her trust in him. Or maybe it just showed how much she wanted her present…
There was a pause.
"No peeking now, Sakura."
Despite the teasing tone he meant what he said; he was not sure how he would feel about someone seeing his uncovered face for the first time in more than twenty years, but he was sure he wouldn't enjoy it.
Mask pooled about his throat, he leaned down swiftly.
Eyes firmly shut, Sakura had never expected to feel a warm breath ghosting across her skin, followed by the sensation of smooth lips pressed against her cheekbone.
She couldn't move as the face hovered close beside hers for a moment, lips brushing her hair, and that low voice tickling her ear, sending pleasant shivers up her spine, like nothing ever had before.
"Happy Sweet Sixteen, Sakura-chan."
Author's Note: Hope you enjoyed it! I'd like this to be a birthday fic for Sakura, but really it's just another feeding of my love for KakaSaku.
