(AN: First few chapters of this are pretty rough... I would burn it if i wasn't so determined to be one of the only EO fanfctions out there. Please bear with me!)
The wind was blowing, the sun was shining. It was a beautiful day in Palau. The weight of the several suitcases made my movements labored as I stepped out of the plane, my foot hitting the steps that led the way dow from the plane. I could just see four silhouettes of varying sizes, crowded around the bar that held the pedestrians from running into the path of a landing plane as they rushed to greet their friends and loved ones.
A hand waved at me, and I waved back, excited at the prospect of seeing my friends again. Dragging my luggage beside me, I seperated myself from the trickle of people exiting the plane, probobly on the way to see their familes. After what seemed like a painstakenly long time, I crossed the airstrip and got to see my firends clearly. Oceana was pressed up against the rail, waving franticly, her smile huge. Hayako was busy in conversation with GG, but more likely they were arguing about something. Jean-Eric wasn't with them, which I found strange. I decided to ask Oceana about it later.
I hurried over, Hayako and GG stopped their argument, and each took turns to embrace me, each saying words of greeting. I smiled back, hugged Oceana, who was bound to have lots of questions about my time away from them, which I proceeded to listen to.
"Mira! I missed you so much! What was it like there? Was it fun? Did you make any new friends? What did you study?Where did you go? Was the city by the ocean? Did you get a b-"
"Oceana, Mira just got back from a long flight, I think you should save your questions for later." Casting a look in Oceanas direction, Hayako stepped forward, her green eyes straying to my bags. "I hope you rememberd our deal..."
I laughed.
"Of course." Reaching to my bag, I brought out a handful of tabloid magazines, and handed them to her. "I got all of the ones at the counter of a supermarket back in the city. I hope they are the right ones..."
Hayako looked down at the brightly colored covers, and said simply, "It will suffice." as if we were talking about something other than magazines that boasted their knowledge of false information.
"Oh, yeah, that reminds me." I reached into one of my bags again, producing two items. They were two cute little statues I had found while wandering through Chinatown back in the city. One was a horse, and one was a cat. Handing the horse-shaped one to GG, and the cat-shaped one to Oceana, I smiled. GG nodded, pocketing his gift. I knew he would thank me later, he couldn't ruin his image in front of his peers. Oceana, however, squealed, hugging me again.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Its sooooooooooo cute!" Oceana held the cat statue in awe, stroking its inanimate head. I grinned once again, she was cute for an 18-year old.
Gesturing towords the airport's parking lot, I asked,
"Well, we better get going. By the way, where is Jean-Eric?"
