Dressed to Kill
Tenten has never been one for frills, but she does have a box in her room specifically for ribbons. Blue, red, green, yellow—she has ribbons all colors of the rainbow and a few that aren't. She has lacy ones that go with sexy outfits, satin ones for normal days and some pretty patterned ones for when she wants an innocent look. For some reason, no one ever seems to take a ribboned girl seriously. No one ever seems to think it a threat when she puts down her hair, either—until she pulls out a katana and a few kunai and slices them to ribbons, of course. Ribbons can sometimes hold wire pretty well, too, but that's an entirely different story.
Ino couldn't care less about what she wears. Others do, though, so she puts in the effort. She likes clothing with shock value, because it holds attention. Preferably the sexy kind of shock value over something blindingly garish like Naruto or Lee, but as long as it holds attention, she'll wear it. Passionate red silks, slinky black dresses, barely there lingerie—she wants her clothes to make men and women stare. It doesn't matter if it's with lust, envy or disapproval.
Her family technique works better if her target is looking at her, after all, and even if they aren't, the pause while they are distracted is all the time she needs to strike.
Sakura likes the feel of patent leather gloves. She wears spandex (because with a team like hers, you never know when someone might look up your skirt), but likes dresses with slits up to here. If people look at her legs, maybe they won't notice how flat her chest is—she's always been a bit self-conscious. It doesn't hurt that when people look down there, it's easier to land a right hook.
Hinata likes modest clothes. She likes plain, comfortable clothing that lets her blend into the background. She's never liked being the focus of attention, like Ino. She's never wanted to catch a man's attention (except, maybe, her Father and… and one other boy). The other girls can try to dress her up all they like with slumber party makeovers and shopping spree changing room adventures, but at the end of the day she always sticks with some basic, solid pieces that don't call attention. She feels safer this way, secure.
If she doesn't call attention to herself, it's easier to get close and land a few subtle taps. She always freezes up when people notice her.
So when the boys start complaining about how long it takes for their female teammates to get dressed, Tenten rolls her eyes, Ino screams about sexism, Sakura starts throwing punches and Hinata flushes red—which is normal, so none of the boys know the better.
