Running down the rabbit hole

Summary: When a psychic/necromancer brings Dennis back from the dead he gets a second chance at a better life and at the same time be able to help a jaded young woman.

A tall man grabbed the dark haired young woman by the back of her neck and pushed her into a crouch in front of the body of the late Dennis Rafkin. The man had moved the body onto a bridge over a frozen river and had dragged the young woman there so he could see her skills firsthand.

"Do your thing necromancer, or wind up in the river." The necromancer passed her hand over the dead psychic.

"Why did you pick him? He had such a violent death." He gripped her neck and forced her closer to the body as he growled in her ear. "Because he was available, now get to work!" Then he backed up and lit a cigarette as he watched her.

She took of her gloves off, took a deep breath and laid her hands on the dead body and squeezed her eyes shut. Then she tensed up and shook as she gasped and started to scream. All the while she kept her hands on the dead body as the wounds started to heal. Scratches appeared on her face as she started to sob. Finally all the wounds were gone and Dennis gasped.

'I'm alive!' He thought to himself. The young woman fell back and gasped before going into a coughing fit.

"So this necromancy thing really takes it out of you huh? Whatever." The man said before aiming his gun at Dennis. The next events happened so fast, neither of them realized what they did till later.

"No!" The girl screamed as she leapt up and shoved athe gun out of his hands.

"Stupid girl!" He yelled as he wrapped his hand around her neck and started to push her over the handrails of the bridge. Dennis jumped up grabbed the gun and bashed him upside the head with it. The man went still, dropped the girl and fell of the bridge. The girl rubbed her throat and looked at Dennis.

"Thanks." She said. He looked over at her.

"Thank you." He said smiling. She just nodded.
