Spencer will never forget that promise that Billy made for him.

Billy promised that in his own power that he would see him again, no matter what! But, each and every day that passes by, Spencer grows less and less confident about this promise. He questions if it'd even ever happen, if he'll ever even see his favorite cousin again.

He sat in his room, fiddling with small things that were clustered on his desk. Everything he grabs just makes him remember.

The call came. Spencer spun around and practically jumped out of his seat, tripping over the edge to his door. He darted into the kitchen where he still heard the ringing. He didn't look to who might have been calling him, he just picked up.

"H-hello!?" Spencer practically yelped with excitement.

"Hello, who's this?" The voice didn't sound like Billy's, it didn't sound like anyone he knew for that matter.

"Spencer…er…Spencer Wright," he replied.

"Ah, you must be his cousin," the voice said in a serious tone. "Well, son, I'm sorry to tell you but…"

Spencer could hear that the voice on the other end had taken a deep breath and a loud gulp rang in his ear. Spencer took a deep breath as well.

"Billy Joe Cobra passed away this evening, I'm sorry." Spencer hung up. He didn't reply, he just…hung up. He plopped down on the couch that was in the living room.

'Billy Joe Cobra passed away this evening.' That sentence echoed right through his head. This was even worse than Billy forgetting his problem, this was even worse than him having to never see him again, Billy Joe Cobra is dead. He's dead and he can't see him anymore, that's it. No turning back now just to say, 'Sorry,' even if there isn't a reason to be sorry.

This is it.

He's dead!

Spencer felt his tears draining from his eyes, dripping down him and on his lap and on the couch. He felt his chin quiver and his eyes bat up and down.

Billy broke that promise.

His mother walked in to see an unfamiliar sight, his son was actually crying.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Billy's dead," he replied as he stared away from his own mother. He didn't see it, but her expression drained down to a saddened face.

"Oh…oh my God…" she looked over and saw the phone. "How?"

"I don't know…" he began "I-I just hung up…"

She walked over and sat on the couch and wiped away Spencer's tear, she held him in her arms and began to try and calm him down.

She'd have to call again to see how Billy died and so on later.

If only Billy kept that promise.
