Hola! So I have returned! (Or so it would seem…) I have not, actually, had time to get back to my multi-chapter stories :(. I am, however, going to get one last one-shot out of my system before my chem final Monday. This might seem a little weird, fair warning. It's basically going to be a bunch of oneshots based on "Funny the Way it Is" by Dave Matthews Band (because I love them.) So…. Yeah.

Also, I'm trying to make a video, but I'm not really sure how to go about it…. If anyone has any tips or pointers, they'd be very much appreciated! Ok, moving on, here we go!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own iCarly. O.O  shock

Lying in the park on a beautiful day,
sunshine in the grass and the children play.
Sirens passing, fire engine red,
someone's house is burning down on a day like this?

"Come on guys, let's do something!"

Sam sighed as she stretched in the afternoon sun. "Carls, it's a Sunday afternoon, the Groovy Smoothie's closed because of that pipe bursting, no good movies are playing, and Spencer's in Yakima. What else is there to do?"

"I don't know!" her best friend huffed as she swung her legs from the picnic table she was sitting on. "I just can't lie around all day like you two lazies!"

"Oh come on Carly." Freddie interrupted from the foot of a tree as Sam flipped herself over to hang from the branch above him by her knees. "It's the first day all week it hasn't rained, and the sun feels so nice…" he continued happily, abandoning the tree's shade to lie in the grass.

Sam nodded as she dropped down to her feet. "For once Freddison," she agreed, joining Freddie in the warm sun. "You and I are on the same page. Besides Carly, if you're so desperate to do something, go play tag with them." she nodded towards the group of grade-school kids chasing each other around the park.

"Haha no thanks." Carly replied. "Don't think I forget what happened last time we played tag." Sam and Freddie struggled to contain their laughter. The last time they had played tag with a group of friends, Gibby had accidently gotten his shirt caught on Carly's hair clip in the middle of removing it, and, half-blind, had run them both into the pond. Carly had ended up soaked with a lily pad hanging off her head and a very angry mother duck pecking at her. "Though I guess it is pretty peaceful here." Carly mused, bringing them out of their memories. She smiled and lowered herself into the grass besides Sam. The three of them lay there for a while, basking in the sun while the squeals of the children breezed past them.

Suddenly, a piercing siren broke through the tranquil scene. Sam shot up – sirens always made her uneasy. Her two friends pushed themselves up beside her and they all watched the fire engine speed past the park's entrance, lights flashing and siren wailing. "Aw, a fire?" Freddie whined, as if he couldn't grasp what the truck was doing.

"Um, that's generally what a fire truck means Freddie." Carly said gently, eyebrow raised in her 'duh' expression.

"Well duh." Sam sighed. "But I get what you mean Freddo." Seeing Freddie's look of disbelief, she continued. "It just doesn't seem like a house burning down could happen on a day like today."

"Yeah." Her friends agreed, still staring down the street even though the truck was long gone.
