After Olympus – Leo and Calypso's mortal escapades
'Hey Leo?', Calypso's whisper grazed the back of Leo's neck.
He knew what was on it's way. Leo and Calypso had been flying on Festus for the last 6 days and he had expected her to get tired of sitting perched on the metal dragon at the close of the first evening. To his surprise, she hadn't wanted to stop for a second. Flying through the skies on Festus was Leo's favorite past time, after building machines out of magic and kissing Calypso. He hadn't expected all his pleasures to combine so effortlessly, but once Calypso got onto Festus and they got going, she never seemed to want to stop. He loved hearing her laugh as they cut through the clouds, flew through forests and chose a mountain peak to picnic on. He kept wondering if he should propose that they stop and choose a place to live because girls are supposed to dig domesticity and stuff but she was always as eager to leave a place as she was to reach it. He didn't blame the girl, she hadn't been anywhere but Ogygia for the last…2000 years?
But now, after 14 days straight of flying, Calypso needed to feel the sea lapping at her feet and a home being created by her hands.
'Hey Leo?', she whispered again
'If you pretend to ignore me I'll-'
He turned around and cut her off by kissing the freckle at the corner of her upper lip. She should have gotten used to this by now but it always caught her off guard and made her laugh despite herself
'You're equal parts annoying and lovable', she shook her head
'I'm all about delayed gratification baby', Leo grinned right back at her
Calypso narrowed her eyes at him. They went from turquoise to stormy grey. Leo started. He wasn't quite used to staring into something that had gathered thoughts and experiences for 2 millenia. It wasn't fair that they changed color with her mood too.
'What?', he shrugged
Festus swerved in sympathy and Calypso had to catch onto Leo's waist to steady herself.
'I've been waiting for you for centuries Valdez. I'm not about delayed anything'
'Fair enough', Leo said and he kissed her quicker this time.
She chuckled as she said 'If you let my mouth be for a second, I might tell you that I've made up my mind'
'Does this mean you've finally decided where you want to go?'
'Gods no', she said, 'a week isn't long enough to get over a world's worth of waiting'
'So you want to keep flying?'
'No, I think we should stop and set down some roots'
'Girl, you're riddling me worse than some prophecies'
'Shoo', she said, 'listen to me'
So he did
'I don't know where I want to go yet but I know where I want tobe'
Her eyes changed back to their deep azure, drawing Leo forward like a swirl of thick paint beckons an artist.
'I mean with you, idiot', Calypso continued, when he didn't say anything for a whole minute.
'I want to be still, with you, anywhere. Lay down roots, build ourselves a home and then do the same thing everyday till whenever the Gods let us live. So just pick a place and lets stop awhile, however long that may be'
Leo grinned at her, he couldn't believe his luck. Calypso made the entire ordeal with Gaia worth it.
'I know just the place'
Festus began his descent to Long Island, without the slightest command from his captain. Leo loved his dragon's intuition, it left his hands free to do more industrious things with Calypso.
