Me: *singing* Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy-
Envy: happy birthday Skaleflapper15, ok?
Me: *pouts* why didn't you let me finish?
Envy: more like why didn't I stop you sooner! *laughs*
Me: *slams a frying pan over Envy's head* aren't you supposed to be disclaiming for me?
Envy: OW! That HURT!
Me: no duh.
Envy: Lilac doesn't own FMA, sheesh.
Me: his story is dedicated to one of my friends! Skaleflapper15, happy birthday cha-nay-nay!
It didn't feel like a special day, nothing was out of the ordinary about it. It was warm, with a light breeze. But it was nothing special.
On this not-so-special day, two blonde boys stood in a neat little graveyard in a neat little town. One held a bouquet of white roses, the other held nothing.
The two boys stood in front of a simple grave. It proudly displayed the name 'Trisha Elric' in simple font. The taller of the two boys leaned down to place the roses on the grave, giving a soft smile.
"Hey mom." Alphonse whispered, but of course the stone didn't answer.
"We came to visit." Edward said from his spot next to Alphonse, "thought today would be a good day to come say hi."
"We don't visit a lot, do we?" Al offered an apologetic smile to the grave in front of them.
"Some sons we turned out to be." Ed laughed quietly.
"Aw, he doesn't mean that." Al giggled.
"How would you know?" Ed nudged him playfully.
"I'm your brother, it's my job to know." Al teased. They quieted down after that and went back to looking at the grave.
"So how are things in heaven?" Ed asked, breaking the silence.[A/N OK, I know that Ed doesn't believe in God, but for the sake of the story lets say he believes in Heaven, alright?]
"Do you like Mr. Hughes? He's pretty nice, isn't he?" Al asked.
"I wonder who else made it up there..." Ed wondered, looking at the sky as though it might answer his question.
"I don't know..." Al said.
"I doubt the Humunculi made it there, but who knows." Ed thought of them. Lust was evil, but she had helped him. Gluttony had eaten hundreds of people, but he had had that strange air of innocence about him. Envy... well, Envy had been phsycotic, but Ed guessed he had had a good kind of reason. Then there were the others.
"Mom? I... I don't know if Wrath is there or not, but I hope you and Izumi are taking care of him if he is." Ed said softly, remembering the young boy. A silence fell over the siblings.
"Well, Winry's doing great. She's got a job as a mechanic in Rush valley now." Al finally said.
"Yeah, she's great at it too." Ed grinned.
"Someone's got a cru~ush!" Al sang, causing Ed to bristle.
"Do not!" Ed shouted, waving an arm around to accent his point.
"Of course you don't." Al snickered and his older brother scowled at him.
"Don't you believe a word he says, mom! Lies, all lies!" Ed declared.
Al laughed again, shoving his hands into his pockets. A gentle breeze swept through the graveyard and Ed's braid lifted into the air, mirroring Al's ponytail.
They stood in front of the grave for a few moments, until Al sighed. "We should go now, brother." He said, looking down at Ed.
"I guess you're right." Edward nodded, stretching his hand out to pat the top of Trisha's headstone. "Bye mom." He said.
The two brothers turned to go, and as the exited the neat little graveyard on that not-so-special day, Al turned back one last time and called out, "oh! And happy birthday!"
Me: ok, this is my first try at an FMA story, so please don't be too harsh!
Envy: *holds up a cake* and happy birthday Skale!
Me: are you getting in the Birthday mood?
Envy: nah, I just like cake!
Me: of course. Anyways, I hope you liked the story guys! Review if you want a slice of birthday cake!
