Disclaimer: No I don't own Robin Hood, but I do live in Nottingham! Yeah!

The first day he met her. He mistook her for an ordinary girl who could not stand up for herself. He tugged her hair hoping she would cry and scream for her father. She didn't; instead she punched him harder than anybody else had before. His father said he deserved the black eye and insisted he apologise. She had said sorry was not enough and he had sulked. It was a sign of the relationship to come.

The day of her mother's funeral. For once Robin was speechless. No witty comments or funny jokes and definitely no apology. He knew she didn't want it because no amount of apologies could bring back her mother and that was final. Instead he carved her a box to put her mother's belongings in and they filled it together later that night. She had smiled that night and hugged him, no words, no apology, just a hug and a problem shared.

The first time he had kissed her. He had been 17 and she was just 15. It was awkward at first but neither apologised or moved away because deep down they both wanted it. They spent the day riding and laughing with each other. He had taken her heart that day but clearly he hadn't realised because as usual, no apology.

The day he had left her to fend for herself and her father against a turning tide. For what? Honour, money and death. He didn't even have the grace to leave her with a gift or as she had hoped a ring. He simply kissed her cheek, told her not to wait up and rode off into the gathering darkness with no apology and no thought for everything he was breaking. Typical Robin she thought. Just a smile and he was off again on his next adventure.

The day he walked back into her life completely unannounced and tried to woo her. It didn't work. She knew she would never forgive him for leaving her like that. But then he had to go and do the right thing, be a hero. And that was when she realised he would not apologise for his behaviour and he never had, but neither had she. She supposed when you loved somebody you didn't need to because they knew what you were trying to say even if you didn't. So she would continue to pretend she was mad but secretly forgive him and no matter what happened she would go on forgiving him.
