Hey guys, here's another one-shot, but never fear - it doesn't end as you think!

Cammie's POV:

Zach crushed his lips to mine fiercely, pinning me against the wall. I fought to keep my thoughts coherent. I broke away.

"No, Zach, stop," I said, breathless. "I can't do this."

His posture hardened as he retreated, face now in defensive mode. Confusion was in his eyes.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"This needs to stop. We need to stop," my voice wavered. "I need to focus on the Circle. I need answers, please understand that."

His expression cleared and he came closer again. "The Circle can wait."

"Look, Zach, I need to know where we stand."

"You seem to need a lot of things at the moment, Gallagher Girl." He smirked.

"I'm serious," - and I was. "You like me," I said, daring to utter the words that had been on my mind for the past few weeks. "You wouldn't waste time chasing a girl you didn't like." Tears stung my eyes. I blinked them back, trying not to let my emotions get the better of me.

Why am I getting so attached? I thought. Since when did I care so much about him?

Zach stood there, all features impassive - but his eyes intent.

"But that seems to be where it ends. My voice cracked as I forced the words from tight lips.

Zach's face showed little emotion - but yet somehow, I knew that he was as affected as I was.

"Don't do this," he said, eyes pleading.

"I need to focus on the Circle. I need answers," I repeated mechanically.

"Cam, don't shut me out - not now, we can do this."

"Since when was there a 'we'." I asked.

He recoiled, as though he had been slapped.

"You don't care about me," I accused.

"Cam, I do."

"You're always so cryptic." My voice was stronger now. "How can I know that that's the truth when you've been trained to lie like that? And even if it is the truth, I need to focus. How can I when I spend most of my time dissecting hidden meanings from everything you say?"

His eyes met mine.

"You're confused. Let me simplify this so you can understand. I love you. I probably have since the first day I met you in D.C."

His tone was urgent, almost in a savage way. His eyes smouldered strongly, boring into mine.

"There, simple enough?"

I stood there. Shocked.

He gave me a long look.

"Now, I'll leave you to focus." He stalked off.

"Zach. Wait!" I called, running to catch up. I stood in front of him, blocking his way.

"What, forgot to tell me that you're sorry, that this meant nothing to you. Save your breath." He pushed me aside and walked away.

"I love you too," I called at his back. The words surprised me for a second - before I realised that they were true.

He froze.

I rushed into his outstretched arms. I forced his lips to mine, needing to know his words were true, that I hadn't just made a huge fool of myself.

And we picked up where we left off.

Lemme know what you think - or I may stop posting...

Thx!
