A/N:Well, hello! Im super excited to do this next story! It will be my first A&A full chapter length story that Im writing just for fanfiction. So..yay to that! So this story is loosely based on the song, American Dream by MKTO and its in entirely in Austin's point of view. It started off as a poorly written note on my phone and now I starting a huge story on it. I dont know how long it would be yet, so whoa!. And after this every one of my chapter will at least be 1,000 words w/o the author's note so don't worry about it being crazy short. Well, I think I should stop talking but I hope you guys like this intro enough to keep reading this story.
P.S. Sorry in advance if there is a grammar mistake or two...Im not the best in that catergory oh and a shoutout to fandomx3 for helping me out on this. :) Okay, now on with the introduction of American Dream.
Update: (4/15): So I realized I had a techinally flaw in the story which made it weird...so I had to change an age and descrption but other than that its the same...chapter three to be up soon!- Tatertat
Life wasn't the most exciting in my hometown. You look out the window and all you see is miles of farmland and cattle. Now as a little boy, that always gave me chills and excitement. But then I started to grow up. I am the youngest of three sons in my family. My older brothers already decided that they were ultimately take care of the farm when my father's retirement came about. It wasn't like I was going to be doing something except either be bossed around by my older siblings for the rest of my life or marry a plain old farmer girl and take over her father's farm.
Don't get me wrong… they are all attractive and what not but honestly I need to do something else with my life. Of course, there is that one kid who wants to go explore the city life and leave the old farm life.
That one kid was me. I was done being a helper. Done being in my older brothers' shadow. Done with just seeing farmland outside my window. I wanted to explore the city, especially Hollywood life. I wanted to get a shot at fame and actually make it. That is life I wanted and as soon as I turned 18, that what I did. I remember the night like it was yesterday. I bid my family goodbye and just drove in my old pickup truck. I was leaving nowhere usa and heading for somewhere better.
Five years later, I was still in LA. Its not what you would expect. LA is not always advertised the right way. After two years of going from auditions and getting false leads on deals. I struggle to make a name for myself and was practically homeless as I hopped from place to place. I eventually got the standard job every young undiscovered artist gets in L.A…. a bartender. Maybe not the standard job, but it was something.
Now don't get me wrong… the pay was okay, its was enough to get me buy in my apartment and have some (very limited luxuries) But I wanted to be a musician, singing my heart to people who will genuinely enjoy my music. This wasn't what I wanted to be for the rest of my life, but it was better than being stuck in my hometown, wondering what could've been.
The bar wasn't a bad looking place. It include chairs, booth, some appetizers and a dancefloor. On most nights, it was a steady flow. Mostly people looking for a quick drink or a place to meet up before heading somewhere else. But on Friday and Saturday nights, it was filled to its capacity most times with many people coming in. It was the perfect place for dancing, causal drinking and your usual hookups. But meeting the one, not really.
You never think that the girl that would change your life would walk through the door, but she did. On the night of June 20, 2014, my life started to flip upside down and it honestly hasn't been right side up since. I will be forever grateful for it. This is my American dream story and I am sharing it with all of you.
So what you think? Let me know by commenting below! Or you can tweet me ya thoughts...im justadisneyteen btw. Anyways, I will have the first chapter up pretty soon so keep checking. :) Peace out, from me!
