AN: So I had the idea for this story, It's really meant to be a one-shot but I might write more. I don't know. I don't own Wicked or the quotes I use. Apologies if it too weird or incorrect ;) Enjoy!

"I'm melting!" Those were the last words that Glinda ever heard from her best friend. Not, goodbye Glinda, or, we'll see each other again, the last words she heard were her screams.

Glinda came out of the shadows, her head spinning about how a strong woman like Elphaba could let something like this happen. Glinda thought there could be another way, Elphie didn't and what Elphaba said goes, that's how it had always been.

Glinda made her way to the puddle in the middle of the old wooden floors. I should have someone come and clean this up, Glinda thought to herself, it will leave a stench. Her eyes then wandered to the large, wide-brimmed witch hat lying at the center of the puddle. Elphie's hat, she thought. Tears flooded the good witch's eyes, she refused to let them fall though, it would ruin her makeup.

"Elphie." She whimpered.

Chistery, the monkey that Elphaba taught to talk came over to the witch, holding a bottle, "Miss Glinda?"

She accepted the bottle, "Thank you Chistery….."

"What?" The monkey asked, noticing how the good witch trialed off.

"I just remembered something."

Glinda burst through the doors to the Emerald palace where she found Morrible and the Wizard conversing. She balled up her fists, "This was Elphaba's."

"What did you say?" The Wizard asked, startled.

Glinda ran up to the Wizard and held the tiny bottle up to him, "This was her mother's, she told me herself! I've only seen something like it one other time, right here! You offered me a drink from it!"

The Wizard stumbled back a few feet, his heart pounding, "But…. No….. Oh my….. I am a sentimental man, who always longed to be….. A father…"

"So that's it then!" Morrible exclaimed, "That's why she was so powerful, she was a child of both worlds!"

The Wizard began to cry, "Not only her though."

"What in Oz do you mean?" Glinda asked, less mad now, just curious.

"I had been in Oz for a few years, practicing my magic," He explained, "When I returned back to Earth for a short time, there I, well, engaged in…"

"Again sir! You did it again!" Morrible announced, slightly horrified.

"At the time I didn't know the consequence of my actions so, you understand."

"I don't but carry on." Glinda told him, les curious now, more angry.

"The Child was born, about ten years after Elphaba and was a beautiful one. No green, just beautiful, healthy skin. Of course the mother was horrified, she cursed me and sent the baby to live with her aunt and uncle. After that, I returned to Oz and became the Wizard!"

"Her aunt and uncle? Dorothy!" Glinda said, amazed.

"Yes Glinda, that baby was Dorothy. I had forgotten about her but when she traveled here, the first time she came to this very room, I knew. It was her, I could feel the power in her."

"So that was why the water had such an effect on Elphaba!" Morrible exclaimed, "They were connected by blood so they shared a bond of some sort."

"So you're saying that Elphaba and Dorothy are…. sisters?" Glinda asked.

"Half-sisters but yes, separated by many years but yes. Dorothy is related to Elphaba in the same was that Nessarose is related to her." The Wizard told her.

"I want you to leave Oz," Glinda told him, "I'll tell everyone that the strains of being a wizard are much too terrible so you are taking an indefinite leave of absence! Do you hear me!"

"Yes, your goodness." The Wizard said quietly, leaving.

Morrible looked at Glinda in a pleading way, "Glinda, dear, I know we've had our differences in the past…."

"Guards!" Glinda called, "Madame, have you ever considered how would would feel in captivity?"

"What!?" Morrible asked, terrified.

"Cap-tiv-i-ty… prison! I do not think that you will hold up well. My opinion is that you do not have what it takes, I hope you prove me wrong. I doubt you will. Take her away" Glinda yelled.

"No!"

Glinda hung her head when everyone had left the room. She couldn't believe it, not only was Elphaba the Wizard's daughter, but Dorothy was his too! Elphaba had her powers because she had the Wizard's power, and Dorothy was able to destroy her because she had her blood running through her veins. Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West were…

Sisters!
