"What's got you in a bad mood?" Lucas Friar asked Maya Hart. The two were in the history classroom working on a project after school. Maya had seemed a bit upset lately but for the past two days she had done nothing but yell and gripe at him.

"Just leave me alone." Maya growled and headed for the door.

"What did I do?" Lucas called before she could reach for the door knob. She paused. He watched her mentally calm herself down and turn to face him.

"Nothing…I'm just…" she sighed and shook her head. "Nevermind."

"No, what's wrong?" Lucas got up and walked over to her.

"The dance is coming up," Maya started, "and Riley's already gotten a ton of offers."

"And?" Lucas asked expectantly. Maya glared at him.

"I don't even know why I'm telling you this." She muttered.

"Because if you don't, you'll explode." Lucas answered for her. She looked at him for a few seconds then continued.

"And I haven't even gotten asked by one guy. One guy!" she cried. "Is there something wrong with me?! Am I ugly and I just never knew?! I know I'm not as sweet as Riley or as caring or stable. I'm not as pretty or as funny or kind, but-"

"Stop, Maya." Lucas cut her off. "You've got so much going for you."

"Like what?" Maya challenged.

"Like you're an amazing artist. You have a beautiful voice. You're short, but I know some guys that like short girls. And you're….you're…" Lucas was having an internal fight. He didn't know how to say it…

"I'm what? Just say it, Lucas!" Maya cried.

"You're gorgeous! Ten times prettier than Riley will ever be! And you always make me laugh. You have an amazing style and your smile could melt a block of ice. And you know what?!" Lucas stepped closer to her.

"What?!" Maya stepped towards him until he was looking right down at her.

"I'm glad no one asked you!"

"Why?!" Maya cried indignantly.

"So I could do this!" and with that Lucas leaned down and brought her lips onto his. She grabbed fistfuls of his shirt and pulled his lower so she could reach him. He picked her up and shoved her back up against the wall. Her legs wrapped around his waist pulling them closer together. He began to roll his hips into hers and she inhaled sharply.

"That feels…." She mumbled on his lips.

"Amazing." He finished for her.

"Hey what's going on in here?" both Maya and Lucas broke apart and Maya's feet landed back on the ground with a thud. Farkle was standing there in silence. Lucas looked at Maya and Maya looked back.

"I think I just asked Maya out." Lucas sounded very surprised.

"And I think I just said yes." Maya sounded even more.
