Bark

As much as he appreciated nature, Beast Boy was never really an outdoorsy person; but even so, as the two of them stood in the woods together, neither one noticing the grin that formed of it's own accord on the half-demon's face as they stared at the fading horizon, it felt like home.

Cliffhanger

He had always been concise and efficient, whether it was quickly filing through the mountains of paper work he did every night or taking out a supervillian in one foul swoop. It wasn't surprising, then, that the uncertainty and complexity that went along with any and all human emotions terrified him. So when his lips touched the resident alien's for the very first time, her pulling away and staring at him for over a minute without saying a word had to be the worst - and longest - sixty seconds that he'd ever encountered.

Subculture

Starfire wasn't slow, anymore than she was mean or selfish. If Robin wasn't around, Starfire could be found conversing with Cyborg about the intricacies of quantum mechanics, or debating the symbolism in "Song of Myself" with Raven. But even so, her unique usage of contractions - or rather, lack thereof - branded her, for better or for worst, and it wasn't until she started going by an English version of her name and swearing that the people of Jump City ever truly saw her as more than an outsider.

Spoiler

As the Mega Monkeys Four music blared from the video game, Raven stole a glance at her teammates, giggling and watching the screen with unbridled delight as the badly drawn characters raced each other to the finish line. She shook her head and turned back to her tea without a word. She would not again be the one to remind them of how childish they all seemed in that moment.

Wiretap

The nausea would pass, Robin knew. He supposed it was his fault that he felt so horrible - if he hadn't been listening on Starfire's phone calls like the jealous lunatic he was, he would have never heard her whisper those three, sobering words she had whispered to her boyfriend with such fervor.
