Here is a fanfic that I promised to Signorina Mela (.net/u/2756510/Signorina_Mela) a very long time ago, and that I finally managed to get on writing. Well, I hope you enjoy! I was the first time that I tried writing for this fandom.

Disclaimer: I don't own 'The Road to El Dorado'

I smiled as brightly as I could as quickly explained to best friend and only person I could really trust the idea that I just had had, knowing full well that the nervousness that I felt inside and the light blush that threatened to appear any moment now on my face would never be detected by anyone, especially him. I could feel my heart beating in a way that only he could only cause, and there was no way of avoiding this. It had been a long time since I had accepted my feelings for him, I couldn't really remember.

"Imagine how much money we will be able to win in that way!" I said, very excited.

"Loaded dice?" He, Tulio, muttered as he thought about all the possibilities that this could bring.

I concentrated deeply on him, slowly becoming unaware of the dark and dirty streets that we were walking through. It was the year 1518, Spain had been unificated at last and the new world had been discovered, bringing riches to the country, but not so many to the people. Stories of golden cities spread like fire throughout all of the country, reaching every single person in existence.

"Miguel, I just had an idea!" Tulio suddenly declared quite happily.

I smiled and looked at him directly in the eyes with an amused grin on my face, knowing full well what was going to happen now.

"We need to get some loaded dice to trick sailors and people with! Imagine all the money we can get!" He declared, with a smile on his usually serious face.

I laughed, and quickly nodded. "It's a brilliant idea!" I said, not bothered in the least by the fact that he had just used the idea that I had just said.

"Quick! We must get some of those as soon as possible!" He said with a happy tone of voice and a mischievous glint in his eyes as he started running through the dark and dirty street.

I laughed and quickly ran after him, quickly telling my heart that what I wished for more than money wasn't possible. That it was forbidden, and one of the worst sins that someone could possibly do. It would have to remain a secret, never to be discovered if I wanted to keep him as a friend and myself alive.
