The Game Show
I OWN NOTHING! Hope you like it
Percy Jackson slowly walked to the mailboxes located at the lobby of his apartment. He took out the key from his sweatpants pocket and turned the small lock. The very second he did, a burst of multicolored confetti shot out from the box. Strangely, there was a golden envelope addressed to him. Once he opened the envelope and read the note, his eyes widened in surprise.
Meanwhile, Annabeth Chase, dressed in gray sweatpants and a orange Camp Half-Blood T-shirt, slowly walked in flip-flops to the camp mailbox, Chiron, the camp director had called for her, letting her know that a strange golden envelope had arrived, addressed to her. Slowly running her fingers through her long blond hair, she opened the envelope. 7 days later; Percy blinked in surprise. He couldn't believe that he had been in this studio for almost 6 days, and he still couldn't understand what he saw through his blue-green eyes.
It reminded him of a 60s studio, with the walls a bright pink, and (fake) flowers gathered around the name, which were pale green and purple. There were 3 saucer shaped chairs, each a glittery red color, with Percy being in the 2nd one. The remaining 2 seats were taken by 2 other boys, all the same age as him. There was a wall, making it impossible to see to the other side.
Meanwhile, Annabeth who was on the other side was also in a chair exactly like Percy's, instead that there was a sort of podium that instead of 2 other chairs, there was a podium, something that a game show would use in the 1960s. It was (of course) a hot pink, with a microphone attached to the top. There were also overhead speakers, which Annabeth thought would be where the narrator's voice would be projected.
She found the place unbelievably relaxing, even though the place was a mixture of hot pink, pale pink, pale purple and pale green. Her mental rant of deciding if this place was trouble or not was interrupted by an overhead speaker, which said "Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, and Teenagers (the narrator chuckled at his joke, causing Annabeth to roll her eyes) to Will This Love Last, Or End Fast? And here's your host, Jake Grossman!" A tall, handsome man with chiseled features and salt and pepper hair walked on the stage.
He had on a dark pinstriped suit, a smile plastered on his face. "Hello and welcome contestants! Today here, we are going to test the relationship between Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson. But, there's a twist, on the side of this wall here, Percy and two other teenage boys, making it harder for Annabeth here, they'll be using voice disgusers!
Both Annabeth and Percy gasped. "And now, a question for Guy number 1!" Percy looked down at the oddly carpeted floor. He was next. He knew that he had to think fast, or he could lose Annabeth forever! During his mental rant, the host started talking again. "And now, a question for Guy number 2! Okay, what is Annabeth's fatal flaw?" Percy wasn't completely sure how the host knew Greek stuff, but he pushed that aside as he tried to remember what the answer was. "Uh, um I know this one! It's hummus-HUBRIS-I think." STUPID ADHD! Percy thought, it wasn't that he didn't care, he just couldn't remember.
A few hours later; the host moistened his lips, preparing for the most important part of the game, he exclaimed; "And now, Annabeth Chose, Your Guy!" Percy could feel the suspense in the air. He knew that if Annabeth's decision would affect their whole relationship. He was too nervous to listen, all he heard was "Guy number" and "Congratulations!" As Percy looked up, he noticed that confetti was raining down on him. He had won!
Everything next was a blur. All he remembered was the ride home and Annabeth smiling at him and kissing him on the cheek.
