A Christmas Party
He had been staring at her all evening and quite frankly it was annoying. It wasn't as if she had changed THAT much since Hogwarts. She was used to boys staring at her though and she didn't know why it was only his gaze that made her feel so uncomfortable. She noted that he hadn't changed at all. He still had the same olive complexion and dark hair, the same smirk. What was it with Slytherins and smirks anyway? She glared at him and his smirk grew more prominent as he made his way over to her.
"Hello, Ginny."
"Blaise," she curtly replied and tried to leave. Somehow he always made her feel trapped.
He moved quickly and blocked her escape.
"How have you been?"
She was getting really annoyed now and wanted to get away from him.
"Look I think there's someone over there that I need to talk to."
He looked at her incredulously.
"And who would that be?"
Crap, she hadn't thought that far ahead. She blurted out the first name that came to mind.
"Harry."
He smirked at her again.
"And why would you want to talk to your ex who, by the way, isn't even here tonight?"
She was caught now. Maybe if she played along…
"I'm fine, Zabini. Will you let me leave now?"
"I don't think so."
She glared at him.
"What do you want?"
He inclined his head upwards. She groaned. Not another mistletoe! She'd already been caught under it several times, the last time with Lucius Malfoy. Shewas trying very hard to forget about that traumatizing experience.
"Fine! Kiss me and then leave me alone."
"Someone's not feeling very romantic today."
She glared at him.
"Oh really? I'm supposed to be all romantic and ready to be swept off my feet a week after breaking up with my boyfriend. I didn't realize. Sorry!"
"Sarcasm doesn't become you, Ginny."
She growled at him.
"Would you just get it over with?"
"I don't remember you being like this the last time I kissed you."
She couldn't help flushing. Why did he have to bring that up?
"Look that was just a stupid mistake. Anyway, what was I? Like fourteen?"
"And madly in love with Harry Potter who hardly realized you existed. I remember."
"Anyway, I was sort of a slut back then."
He looked surprised.
"A total of three boyfriends and kissing a random boy at a party doesn't sound very slutty to me."
"Well maybe you're right about that… Anyway, would you just kiss me and get it over with? I have somewhere to be."
He smirked ominously.
"As you please."
His hands slowly circled her waist and pulled her towards him. It felt very familiar, very safe. That was strange! Who would have thought she'd feel safe with Blaise Zabini of all people? He kissed her softly on the lips. Not at all like their last kiss in the broom closet. She actually blushed when he pulled away. He smiled at her. He had a nice smile that she'd never noticed before.
"I like you better when you're quiet, Ginny."
And just like that the spell was broken. Back to insults and anger. But something had changed. She knew it was too soon. She shouldn't feel this way so soon after breaking up with Harry. She tried to hide her insecurity and smirked at him.
"I like you better when you're quiet too."
He kissed her again and this time she let herself respond. She didn't care that Rita Skeeter was there, that her mum would kill her or that he was probably using her. He made her feel whole. That was all that mattered.

A/N: I'm sick at home and just really felt like writing something about Blaise I've decided I quite like him… Well I like nearly all the Slytherins so no surprises there. For some reason I feel like dedicating this to Luna Lovegood so: Luna, this is for you.
