Ari

Screams filled his house, and suddenly he was forced into the family car. "Mom" he asked, dreading the answer, "What is it?"

"Its Sammy…" She stared straight into her young sons eyes."He was hit b-by a…" Hysteric sobs tore through the crisp air and left Ari's mother unable to communicate . The boy's father was silent. He did not shake. He did not speak. He kept his eyes on the road and drove. The childs world would soon crumble.

Those ballet tickets, the ones he gave up for me, I've clung on to the remains since the day I got them. At first it wasn't knowingly, I didn't expect them to become a symbol, but now everything is. He is everywhere. From the fish tank in the common room to red ropes that tie us together. They make me nauseous.

Ms Raine spoke than Kat screamed, but I didn't understand. I just sat there confused. "What did you say?" I asked as soon as the little Tinkerbells screams became quieter. Than Miss Raine replied. The words surrounded me as if it were all there was, and soon my feet were carrying me out of the room. Hot tears formed in my eyes. They fell down my face without warning. My feet stumbled as I made my way up the stairs, tripping on every last one. I could feel myself exploding. I wanted so badly for time to stop, so I could take a breath and comprehend what had happened, but that was simply impossible.

Mom and I sat at the table, her on the phone, and me anxious to have my turn to talk to Abigail, but Mom hung up before I could. She looked both startled and concerned. Something about this look got my hopes up. Mom has always disliked Sammy. She would go on endless rants about how he was guiding Abigail astray from Dance.

"Sammy and Abby are dating again, aren't they." I looked at her with a smile suggesting I had won and she had lost, but I realised there was something different this time.

Mom didn't even glance at me. "Oh my gosh" She said as if nothing, but the information she had received was real. "Abigail must be so devastated" She whispered finally looking up from the table.

"What?" Our voices had shrunk in sound.

"Sammy died." She said quickly as standing up. Her voice not matching the previous tone. "Im going to the Academy tonight, Wanna come?"

I sat, fighting tears and Angry at her ability to dismiss this subject. "yeah."
